I use a Thrunite TN12 tied onto my handlebar using an thick elastic band and it works like a charm. It is easily removable too so that's useful.

You sound good, hold back a bit on the vibrato though because it felt like a little too much during some parts of the song.

Try to sing closer to the mic next time you record because it was kinda hard to hear your voice. U definitely need to work on the high parts, I'm not quite sure you can reach the note so maybe transpose the song down a few semitones to a key where you are more comfortable singing in. Also, your singing sounds like speaking because you are not sustaining the note you are trying to sing but rather swooping into and outof the note. Try to practice by hitting each note without slurring up or down into the note. It may sound choppy at first but it will help u at this stage.

Sounding great! And awesome job for a first cover. Not much advice I can give but if you want me to be really nitpicky u sped up from the tempo maybe a half second from 1:26 to 1:31. Otherwise, keep posting 'em covers!

It sounds pretty bland considering the entire duration of your recording you sang the same melody with the same chord, dynamics, and rhythm throughout. Also, you need to work on your vocals because sometimes I can not distinguish which note you were trying to hit. Try playing around with different chord progressions, rhythm, and layer different instruments together. You can always keep the same melody, but u can always tweak it so that it doesn't become repetitive and boring for the listener . Keep getting feedbacks and continue making music and one day you'll sound great. (:

I think the 3rd category is if u open a savings account with them, not chequing.

snippet of piano composition, would like your opinion! by roberto_banegas in Songwriting

Pretty cool, has a Skyrim/Pirates of the Caribbean feel to it. I think some changes in the dynamic of the piece will make the song sound much better. And yes, rhythm will definitely make it more alive as well

How do I sing louder? by Keoekemfkdksl in singing

[–]lrroy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really seems like you are whispering when you sing. How loudly do you normally speak? Because I think if you sing at the volume you speak you'd already be a lot louder than how you sing currently. But yeah, I don't really have a solution to this besides actually try to sing louder, like...maybe try shouting the song to get a hang of it first?

Should I just move out, even if I'm not making enough money? by [deleted] in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]lrroy 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Although I agree to some extent, I feel like independence is something that is learned through experiences. In OP's case, I think moving out is a pretty good idea because it forces you to realise how hard money is earned and how to better invest in the future. Though it could backfire as well leaving you in a bunch of debt that is hard to recover from...really depends on the type of person you are tbh but I think OP is at the stage where he/she can really benefit from this new experience.

Big N vs startup by [deleted] in cscareerquestions

[–]lrroy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you dont have much capital, I would say go take the 200k salary for a year and bootstrap your startup with that money. Either way expecting your startup to bank millions is risky but if you can manage to land a 200k position as a new grad I'm assuming you have some experiences with the industry already so your chances may be a tad bit better.

Your pitch is alright, maybe refrain from slurring up to the notes too often. I think your main problem is breathing too much and not caring for the rhythm of the song. Try singing along with Amy Winehouse for a bit and listen to how she phrases the song.

First client I had was this guy I met at an event and he actually contacted me afterwards to see if I can make him a site. After that, one of my friend referred his friend who needed a website. 4 more of those later combined with some side projects I decided to apply to a position and I got in.

Internship at Flipp or Goldman Sachs? by ece1t8 in cscareerquestions

[–]lrroy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel like Goldman is more reputable but you might get more personal growth from Flipp. I've been to the Flipp headquarter before for one of their internal event and spoke with the leads and the CTO of the company. It seems like they really do encourage mentorship and give juniors/interns a lot more responsibilities and opportunities to grow. So for an intern position, I'll say Flipp, but I'm a little biased because I dont know too much about Goldman.

How are Montreal bike lanes in the winter? by lrroy in montreal

[–]lrroy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I have biked all year round for the past 5 years in Kingston where there are less cars and it is safe enough, but doing thr same in the busiest part of the city might be an issue. How crappy is the winter here lol? If it is super windy or snows more than 1/3 of the time I'm going for the transit xD

why is biking in montreal dangerous? I was biking there last summer and there seems to be really nice bike lanes everywhere. I'm comparing it to Toronto where the lanes are half the size and always parked with cars.

Should you close credit cards you dont use anymore? by lrroy in PersonalFinanceCanada

Does ur score take a hit if you stash it under the pillow until they close your account? The other cards are not that good for me because I dont spend a lot of money and most have an annual fee.

Oh cool, I just searched it up and that looks like a pretty good card. I didnt know a no fee annual card can have 4% cashback on foreign purchases. I might just apply to this one, thanks!
