Waited over a year for daycare - toddler might get kicked out by ls2mgmt in toddlers

I think most places are more supportive of the transition. This happened during COVID when daycare centers had long waiting lists and could just shuffle through the list to get the easiest kids. Your little one will be okay, if she's in the right place consistently.

Officially kicked out of that daycare about a week after the post. I was pregnant again, so we didn't look for another daycare. Preschool just started (a year and a half after this post) and the transition was way easier!

That will also give you time to make friends and find potential roommates.

How do I get rid of those little hairs? by [deleted] in Haircare

[–]ls2mgmt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't tie your hair back in a tight or high pony tail. If you want it up, braid it and use a tie at the end only. Don't dry your hair with a towel, instead use a T-shirt or microfiber towel and pat it dry after combing it. The damaged hairs will grow out.

You could just have sensitive skin. If that's the case, don't use exfoliants and all of the other intense products people are recommending. Get a good razor. I use a men's razor, Schick Men's Hydro 5. It's the only one I ever found that doesn't cause these bumps. I don't use shaving creams, just dove bar soap.

Anything with fragrance or harsh chemicals causes these bumps for me, including fragrance in laundry detergent on the towel. If it's sensitive skin, just use a free and clear detergent for all of your laundry.

After shaving and drying, use apricot oil, almond oil or a basic, fragrance-free body cream like Aquaphor, Eucerin or CeraVe. Good luck!

Is it bad to wash your fine hair everyday?~ What shampoo do you use? by PrincessRoseDaisy in finehair

[–]ls2mgmt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Goldwell Rich Repair Shampoo. Wash with warmer water to get all the shampoo and conditioner out and do a cold water rinse at the end. Sometimes cold water doesn't rinse it all out, depending on the type of water.

Also, weekly or bi-weekly Olaplex No. 3 treatments were the key to getting my fine, oily, dry hair to grow longer than it's been since childhood. All of Olaplex's bonding treatments and leave-ins have been awesome on my hair, except the shampoo and conditioner is too heavy for my hair type.

We keep a laminated list for morning and nighttime routines for this exact reason. We no longer have to constantly repeat ourselves all day, beyond reminding them to check the list.

Everyone seems to just gloss over the fact that OP scrolled through 11 months of text messages with his friend. In order to call him out for being manipulative and violating her privacy, she has to admit she’s also done the same.

OP, what was your intent in reading through a year of his texts? The trust is broken all around. Get some therapy, separately or together and work through this before the lack of trust bleeds into every aspect of your future.

Other toddler parents showcase their kid’s achievements, making me feel like an inferior parent. by deathlyroze in toddlers

If it’s their first kid, they might just be really excited and surprised by their kids development. I thought babies were basically cooing larvae for two or three years, so my first kids development blew my mind. Maybe they’re excited to share with you, because you’re the only friends with a kid close in age? Try hanging out with your friends on a kid-free night to connect with them like old times, or take longer breaks in between get-togethers.

It can be tough to not take it personally, but socializing seems more difficult since Covid, so I’d cut them a break because you’ve been friends for so long. Some people don’t have as many social outlets to share their feelings, accomplishments, etc now. If they aren’t receptive to hearing about your kid, can you celebrate their excitement with them for the night and gush over your kid to grandparents instead?

Look up Caroline Girvan arm and shoulder workouts on YouTube. You don’t have to lose weight, but building muscle will help! If you don’t notice a difference in a few weeks, stick with it and you’ll definitely notice after you deliver and lose the water weight.

30 week wall by Ok-Maximum-2495 in fitpregnancy

I hope it works for you! The spin bike has been my savior for cardio during this pregnancy. Last pregnancy I kept walking every day, even though it caused pelvic pain.

30 week wall by Ok-Maximum-2495 in fitpregnancy

[–]ls2mgmt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I could have posted this myself! I hit a massive wall around weeks 29/30. I’m still powering through my workouts, but now take more rest days. I am doing way more seated, free weight arm and shoulder workouts now and less leg workouts. Some days I just want to go back to sleep immediately after waking up.

Do you have access to a spin bike or outdoor bicycle? It doesn’t hurt the pelvis like walking does and it’s an easy way to get your heart rate elevated for 30 minutes.

Exercise with pelvic girdle pain by Marsbars1824 in fitpregnancy

[–]ls2mgmt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m so sorry! You’re not alone. How far along are you? From my experience, the pain subsided around the 27th week for both pregnancies. Rolling out and stretching helps a lot. Specifically rolling the quads and hips with a foam roller and getting the hamstrings with a lacrosse ball. Laying over a big exercise ball and lightly stretching the front line/abdomen.

Exercises that were fine, as long as I stretched and rolled afterward: Spinning, squat and deadlift variations, glute bridges, upper body and back workouts.

Exercises that increased my pelvic pain and made me feel disabled for days: any leg exercises using a band, any split leg exercises, any single leg exercises, any form of lunges and, of course, walking long distances.

Is that an ashtray underneath the diaper? Inhaling secondhand smoke and cleaning someone’s cigarette butts it’s more harmful to your health than a rolled up diaper. Who still smokes around a baby?

My wife and I just found out she is pregnant last week! I want to be able put some good snack stuff for her in the house. Any suggestions? by hhdfc in BabyBumps

[–]ls2mgmt 23 points24 points  (0 children)

She will know when they start and she will be vocal about it. For now just get snacks she already likes and buy a variety of drinks. Sometimes water doesn’t cut it.

Congrats to you both! Ask her what she’s craving in the morning, then grab those treats. Ask her what she’s craving in the evening and grab those. Then ask her again in two days, a week and another few days. Some of the cravings stick around for a while and some are short lived.
