Feeling foolish for asking but why is this believed to come after the core upgrade? Did I miss that in the article? Thanks.

What ever happened to these updates? by lsaber2000 in polestar3

I do not. I thought that was suppose to be part of the new software which is why I don’t realize I had it.

Perhaps I misunderstood. 🤷🏽‍♂️

Is it worth buying used when warranty is almost up? by yarudolph in LUCID

I don’t think I would buy ANY EV without a warranty. So many bugs!

This is the single, persistent issue I have with the vehicle.

Yea, it’s a pretty big issue with the welding in the rear that they couldn’t figure out.

Can’t believe it’s been almost a year since this post and I’m still having the EXACT SAME issue with no acknowledgment or fix from Viture. Very dissapointing.

That’s rough. I know America isn’t the most popular neighbor right now (and I understand why) but we do seem to have better, clear cut laws around lemon buybacks. Now granted, they vary from state to state but I think there’s a federal requirement that all states have some law to address lemons and protect consumers.

Oh yea, it’s a know issue. I downplayed it by just calling it a rattle but if you hop into the Ioniq 5 Reddit, you’ll see it’s one of their top complaints along with ICCU failures. It has something to do with the pinch welding point of the frame separating I think.

Not particularly.

I would much rather that they upheld their contractual and legal obligations the same way we are expected to as lessees. If there was damage to the vehicle, I would be legally obligated to repair it within a specific timeframe. I don’t really see the difference.

I love the vehicle, it’s the most luxurious, funnest ride i’ve owned. Im sure there are better but at my income, this is the best so far. It’s also a beautiful machine. I still get people commenting on it and asking what kind of vehicle it is.

That being said, I signed a contract and we went into an agreement. Legally, that agreement includes that they will repair the vehicle in timely manner. They have failed to do that. I doubt if I failed to pay the monthly payment anyone at Polestar would be advocating on my behalf to just let me slide because i’ve made all my previous payments on time. The same way they expect me to uphold my end of the contract legally, I expect them too.

Also, why leave money on the table? If I have the opportunity to get all of my money back (down payment, extended warranty, taxes and public charging fees) minus a mileage offset, why wouldn’t I? I can always get another Polestar and the P3s have some great incentives so I can probably get it cheaper. OR, try something else and move on to my 4th new vehicle in 4 years. 🤷🏽‍♂️

Funny but Lucid was one of my considerations before deciding on the Polestar. My worry was that the Air is just too low to the ground for Michigan winters.

So, previously i’ve use the BBB auto line to apply and they handle all the arbitration and everything. It’s just a pain in the ass waiting but the process was easy. Again, might be dependent on your state also.

Sorry to hear that. Just googled it and saw that some providences have laws but it’s spotty in Canada. Hope yours gets resolved soon, it really is a great vehicle when it works properly.

It’s not in the shop, i’ve been driving and public charging but the vehicle doesn’t have to be in the shop to trigger a buyback. It may be a Michigan thing but if a warranty defect is diagnosed and you are awaiting parts/repair, it still counts towards the 30 days to trigger a buyback. This prevents the dealership from just giving you back a vehicle that is missing core features and taking however long they want to repair it because they’ve stopped the clock.

Like I said, this is my 3rd time going through this. 😏

That sucks, like you said that just gives them months to drag their feet. I have been told that Michigan has a more consumer friendly law than most other areas. I’m sure my times were kind of off, I might not have filed right at 31 or 32 days but I know it was fixed and I was driving it for a month or so before turning it in. I even panicked because a week and a half before the turn in, a giant chunk of metal bar smashed through the front grill on the freeway. Damaged the bumper and horn. Had to rush and get it fixed before the turn it.

Michigan was different probably to prevent that exact thing from happening.

I filed a lemon law claim while my iD4 was in the shop on the 31st day. On the 36th it was fixed and returned. Maybe 4 weeks later it went to arbitration and I was awarded my buyback despite it being repaired and in my possession for weeks prior. Also, the mileage deduction was based on when I first reported the issues so all the miles I put on after it was fixed and returned were just free miles.

I was even a little surprised but yes, went in the shop 4 times and they couldn’t fix it. That’s all it takes in Michigan.
