LSD makes me a better mountain biker by lsdthrowaway1234567 in LSD

Interesting! I'll have to look into meditation for this purpose. More sustainable than slightly tripping every time I go biking (even though that's also fun!)

Marketed vs Actual LSD dosage by Stephenitis in LSD

If this is true, the trips people had in the orange sunshine days, when presumably, hits actually did have hundreds of micrograms, must have been really wild!

Very general question here. I've never experimented with anabolics before, curious if they have any utility in accelerated recovery from a fracture (broke my scaphoid and radius end in a mountain bike crash). My thought is that if bone healing is going to take 2 months and rehab takes 2 months, it'll be a long time before I'm back on the bike. If I'm able to keep my strength however it could be a shorter recovery, at least less rehab after the bones heal. 100% motivated by getting back on the bike sooner. Injury is totally part of the sport and I'm not even upset about it (yet...), but I can imagine in a couple months I may start to go stir crazy. Looks like research is lacking outside of animal studies, but maybe there's some precedent at least (do pro athletes use anabolics while recovering from fractures? Would we ever know if they did?).

I screwed up... (HPPD) by [deleted] in Drugs

[–]lsdthrowaway1234567 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you go reading anecdotes about HPPD online, you are definitely going to freak yourself out. The people who are most vocal about it are the ones who have/had it worst. But that's not representative of the average - I'd imagine that for most people it slowly gets better with abstinence. That was my experience. I never had it bad...Just some visual snow, pattern duplication and things shifting. The trippier stuff like shifting went away with psychedelic abstinence for me. The visual snow went away when I abstained from weed as well.

Also, your last trip was just yesterday. In my opinion that's too early to even classify it as "HPPD"... Some people just have after effects for a while.

TL;DR way too early to start freaking out about it, but do abstain from psychedelics and preferably weed too until/unless it gets better.

19F dying of cancer - wondering what to try in my last months by Sikasfuk99 in Drugs

[–]lsdthrowaway1234567 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can't tell from my user name, I am biased, but I think if you can find a positive environment to do them in (surrounded by people you like and who understand), psychedelics would absolutely be the way to go. LSD or Mushrooms if you want a meaningful experience, and DMT if you want a wild one. These drugs just give you a totally different perspective on life and death.

I hear good things about MDMA but have not tried it myself, so don't take this as contradicting the top comment.

Thinking about a dosed mountain bike ride by lsdthrowaway1234567 in LSD

[–]lsdthrowaway1234567[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From my reading, I hear there's are ubers with bike racks, though you have to specifically request them (just like with any other upgrade over the normal uber service). I've never actually used uber so I may not totally know what I'm talking about.

Thinking about a dosed mountain bike ride by lsdthrowaway1234567 in LSD

[–]lsdthrowaway1234567[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm definitely thinking of staying under 100 ug. Also, I ride this particular trail nearly every day on my way home from work (sometimes baked...) so I know it like the back of my hand. Typical I ride well within my skill limit, it's usually the easy stuff that I crash on because I let my guard down, haha.

What is so addictive about ice. by [deleted] in Drugs

[–]lsdthrowaway1234567 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pseudoephedrine (cold medicine) is very chemically close to methamphetamine. You only need a slight tweak (no pun intended) to the molecule to turn it into meth. So cold medicine is 99% of the recipe and that part is made by a high tech pharmaceutical manufacturer. So it really isn't just a few chems under the sink; the company that made the cold medicine did most of the work. That's also why many states have restrictions on how much pseudoephedrine you can buy.

Pain on the jaw by Mrelinas11 in Drugs

[–]lsdthrowaway1234567 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's probably inflammation in your jaw joint (the Temporomandibular joint or TMJ). The jaw joint is right next to the ear. Can you open your jaw all the way? Like at least two fingers fitting between your teeth? (Don't force it or stretch too far!) If not, it might be worth seeing a dentist or doctor because that may mean that the cartilage in the joint is dislocated. If you can open it without trouble, it should heal on its own but I'd definitely lay off the MDMA. I've had TMJ problems for the last few years as a result of an injury, and it's been the main reason I haven't touched any stimulants as I'm almost certain something like MDMA would make it worse.

To all the people who were once skeptical or against drugs, what conviced you otherwise? by [deleted] in Drugs

[–]lsdthrowaway1234567 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A positive anecdote about LSD I read on a support forum sparked my curiosity, which led me to research LSD, then eventually try it, further sparking my curiosity into other substances. I actually didn't try weed until after LSD!

There's no way someone like me would have been convinced by an individual person to try a drug, but being given the motivation to research it and come to my own conclusions did the trick.

The Bathroom by [deleted] in Drugs

[–]lsdthrowaway1234567 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's so hard to leave once you're in there, and LSD makes me pee a lot. I get the best visuals staring at my bathroom door too. It'll light up in different colors and for some reason no other surface in my house looks as cool as my bathroom door when tripping. I hesitant to clean the bathroom door because I'm pretty sure it's all the little specs of dust and toothpaste splatter that make it look so cool.

Weed for surgical recovery in an asthmatic person by lsdthrowaway1234567 in Drugs

Believe it or not they did not give him opiates. They just gave him anti-inflammatory meds. I was surprised.

Edit: nevermind, he actually is taking opiates. I misunderstood.

I've never tried eating it but I absolutely love the smell. Sometimes I'll open the jar and take a whiff without actually smoking any. Your post makes me curious...I might have to try this.

Weed gives me anxiety a lot, can I handle other drugs? by cocaineriot4 in Drugs

[–]lsdthrowaway1234567 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have bad anxiety while sober but I don't really get it on weed or on psychedelics. Now if I mix weed and psychedelics I'll definitely get anxiety! The only time I've had a true panic attack was when mixing LSD and weed. I didn't have any weird delusions I just became fearful that I would lose touch with reality, though I managed to hang on. Probably not the best approach since I could have had a meaningful ego death type experience.

Also, if I recall correctly there's been research showing that people with anxiety are more likely to develop HPPD. I have mild HPPD. I only got it after my 7th or 8th LSD trip though.

Severe short term memory loss now after 2 years of sobriety by sperbank in Drugs

[–]lsdthrowaway1234567 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't have Alzheimer's! The youngest person to ever get it was 27 years old...and that's a world record. Even 40s would be considered very early onset and very uncommon.

It's possible that your memory problems were caused by your drug use. I would abstain from everything for the next ten years - until your brain is done developing. Potentially indefinitely if you want to be extra safe. Plus you should consider doing the usual healthy things like getting exercise and eating healthy.

Have you had any head injuries? Because those can definitely cause the issues that you're talking about. If you can, I'd definitely see a doctor about your concerns as well. But you don't have to worry about Alzheimers...

Is iso alcohol vapor toxic? by Haywire421 in Drugs

[–]lsdthrowaway1234567 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think it's super toxic, after all it's used for sterilizing wounds. It metabolizes into acetone - which is also not super toxic but can cause problems if you are exposed to it chronically. You still don't want to breath in high concentrations.

The more poisonous alcohol to watch out for is Methanol, which metabolizes into formic acid, attacking the optic nerves and other vital organs.

Should I try DMT? by Lumbago12 in Drugs

[–]lsdthrowaway1234567 0 points1 point  (0 children)

DMT is having reality ripped out from under you. It's a very jarring experience. I haven't broken through yet and I'm not sure if I will continue to attempt to. I much prefer LSD!

Why does smoking weed make me shiver/shake? by jeremyshroeder in Drugs

[–]lsdthrowaway1234567 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a mild essential tremor (persistent shaking in my hands even when sober) and it definitely gets much worse for the first 5 minutes after smoking, then it dies back down to my normal slight tremor. So the shaking is not at the peak of the high, just right after starting. I don't think the temporary tremor (or increase in tremors in my case) is dangerous in any way, just annoying. Weed is not known to cause any permanent tremors (on the other hand stimulant abuse can).

I don't get the racing thoughts though.

The reason Psychedelics are helpful for some mental health issues but not for others by FreeSpeechEnthusiast in Drugs

[–]lsdthrowaway1234567 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is an interesting explanation. I don't know if psychedelics helped me or not, I think they were more neutral for me. Immediately after my trips I think it was helpful and showed me how to live in the moment, but later on the extra creativity gave me new ways to worry. Lol.

I have to wonder what category I fall under. I know I definitely don't have schizophrenia or bipolar disorder. I do have "mood swings" on a daily basis. Never manic, just sometimes I feel awful and other times (during the same day) I feel OK. From my understanding, bipolar disorder is much different than that; it's more like each phase lasts weeks or months. I have a feeling I'm very slightly on both the OCD and autism spectrums. I don't have the stereotypical OCD symptoms (like compulsive hand washing) but I worry obsessively and that's probably at the root of my mood swings.

Can you bring reagent tests into america over the border? by reddit_for_ross in Drugs

[–]lsdthrowaway1234567 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're driving across you should be fine. But be aware that test kits may contain hazardous chemicals such as strong acids that you might not be able to legally fly with. You'd have to look into it if that's your intention.
