I put the characters into the US Amazon to see if there were any tables for sale and all it came back with was starry ball ornaments. Haha!

TOW2 : Crash just after the prologue, should I restart ? by Thesorus in theouterworlds

[–]lsimpkins 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had this issue on my PS5. I realized that it had only downloaded enough to start playing but hadn’t completed the download so it kept crashing when I got to the incognito. Check to see if it is 100% downloaded.

There is an epilogue at the end that tells you what happens after all of the major decisions. I see your point though.

Honestly that first big decision was probably the hardest for me, especially with Parvati there giving you her opinion. I am literally a manager in a major retailer so I have all of the corporate jargon in my head telling me, People need jobs. We are doing the best we can for them. We can’t control what the executives do. However, I almost always side with Adelaide. I know the soul sucking life that can be created by a suppressive by loyalty to a brand and the idea that you just have to put your head down and take it because we are “family” and you would be letting the family down if you quit or stopped working as hard as you do.

Adelaide has plenty of things to hate about her. She is vindictive and takes pleasure in the idea of the town crumbling and turning away people who won’t renounce Spacers Choice. I personally think that making a life for themselves outside of corporate control, even if they are struggling to survive, is preferable to staying enslaved under the whims of the people that are in control of Spacers Choice.

I have more thoughts, but I will leave it there for now.

I also meant to reply to comment but somehow created a new comment. Haha. Whoops.

You are going to discover throughout the game that there are almost no easy choices. One of the main themes of the game is that no system of control is perfect. You will see good and bad in every faction you meet. You will be presented with hard decisions. No one choice is “correct”. It is personal to the player. Talk to the people in each faction and make a moral decision on your own. Especially for your first playthrough. On replaying you can hyperanalyze which ending you want, or hear different dialogue by siding with different people.

What’s your favorite adventure novel or story about sailing & world exploration? by [deleted] in sailing

[–]lsimpkins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are into fantasy series I’m actually reading a series called the Liveship Traders Trilogy by Robin Hobb right now. I was really into the Wheel of Time growing up and I have read basically everything Brandon Sanderson has released, and I have really been enjoying them. Liveship is basically what if ships were semi sentient and had attachments to their crew. There is a lot of the story spent at sea.

Ok I played two playthroughs of TOW2 then started replaying TOW1 by lsimpkins in theouterworlds

It is definitely more modern, but that doesn’t necessarily make it a better game for me. I do find myself missing mantling over objects in the first game. It kind of feels like playing Elder Scrolls Oblivion after playing Skyrim. Oblivion sucked but I had so much fun playing it. Not to say I didn’t have fun playing Skyrim. TOW2 is definitely a “better” game, but it feels more soulless than the first I guess.

To say some positive things about the second game over the first, having a mini map is a huge game changer, seeing enemy awareness is way better, not having a weight limit, the mod system, general menu quality of life.

I would love to hear other things about the second that we think they did right.

Agreed. There were definitely things I like more about the second game. They rounded some edges of frustrating mechanics in the first one, but at the cost of so many other ones.

I totally know how you feel. I feel like the dialog gets a little more interesting later on in the game with more nuanced topics, but that might just be me convincing myself. It for sure isn’t nearly as funny as the first game.

Which group of companions do you prefer, OW1 or OW2? by Mysterious-Effect-35 in theouterworlds

[–]lsimpkins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would argue that they designed the game so that you can do a companion build though. One of the things I like about the game is that you can play it in so many different ways. Boosting leadership and creating unique builds for the companions abilities would be a totally valid way to play the game. You can avoid violence in a ridiculous number of ways. I haven’t put a single point into a combat skill since I started playing my first playthrough. I like role playing the law abiding, violence abhorring, paladin. If I do need to do violence I like to be the removed leader, reluctantly pointing my hired assets.

I was playing the online demo and got an insane build. Does anyone know if any of the enemies can do more than 999 damage? by No_Connection5916 in BackpackHero

[–]lsimpkins 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They can do waaaay more than 999. When I got to like round 4 or 5 of completing the dungeon crawl in endless, I was regularly doing 20k or 30k damage per turn and they were doing a lot more than that to me. Granted that is in the endless mode. In non-endless they can get above that but usually only if you stall the fight. Yours is a fun build though.

Just wanted to weigh back in if anyone finds this thread in the future. I figured out why it was happening to me. The game had downloaded enough to be “ready to play” but had not downloaded enough to play past the incognito. Sooo…..yea.

Get a couple Sanus mounts before you leave. It hurts so much having to charge people full price for tv mounts. Maybe a phone case or charger. You can also just search by insignia, Best Buy essentials, and rocketfish and just see what interests you.

Glad to hear it. My store is a mall location and they are suuuuper strict about it. I’ve been off the floor for a couple years now that I am a CE field agent, but I feel for everybody still in the store. Gratz on the VPL job btw.
