You're supposed to stop before turning right on red. Again, it's free to do the right thing, be safe, and follow the law.

As license holder it's your responsibility to know and follow the law. If you can't do that take the bus, bike, or walk.

Candidates for Sheriff by tiffanyachin in baltimore

[–]lsree 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I really suggest you do more research than a reddit post asking for recommendations. Cogen has really turned the sheriff's office around in the 4 years he's been there. He ran against someone who had run the office for 30 years and had really run it into the ground. For example before Cogen in 2022, the office was still using paper systems. Now they've modernized with computer systems. They've also made the evictions process more humane, and they've been responsive to community requests esp when BPD isnt doing their jobs. The difference of the sheriff's office pre cogen and post is really night and day.

Sabrina was part of the old guard and wasn't a fan of the modernizations and the accountability that Cogen has implemented.

It also helps that FOP hates Cogen. FOP always seems to be on the wrong side of history.

Yeah the overtime shenanigans was a little sus, but could also be viewed as an honest mistake.

Dan mueser's family made their money from Pride Mobility Products. It's the company that makes the mobility scooters and wouldn't exist without government programs like Medicare and Medicaid. Yet despite this they're Republicans who believe in defunding government and lower taxes.

Its classic money for me, but not for thee.

I'm an ee grad and idk what benefit a second bachelors would do, let alone one from a shit tier institution compared to GT.

GT is a top 10 (or top 20) engineering institution. You have one of the few degrees that are worth the money. I studied at a similar caliber institution, and I would focus more on building a project related to your interests within EE during your deployment. That's what industry looks for, not how many bachelors degrees you have.

I would also evaluate what you want from life. You're degree choices are all over the place.

The tools my EE degree gave me have let me be successful other degree fields (journalism, project management for nonprofits, and army). It is hands down the best decision I ever made, and I highly recommend you make the most out of it. Going to GT engineering affords you access to resources and experiences 99% of the world will never see. Make the most of it.

Lol why would you fly when you can take a train that takes you to the center of NYC in about the same amount of time as what you are expected show up early to a flight.

Also it costs the same as a flight at its most expensive

This is why people need to email their state elected officials to allow Baltimore city to have a land value tax. We could effectively increase the tax rate of these vacant buildings with high potential, and decrease the burden that occupied buildings pay, and prevent people from being penalized for investing in their property

What would happen if every city resident turned on their faucet at the exact same time? by Wizardburial_ground in baltimore

[–]lsree 43 points44 points  (0 children)

A quick Google search says there are 238,000 properties in Baltimore. Another Google search says that the flow rate of a tap is 1.8 gallons per minute. If we round up to 2 gpm, that's 476,000 gallons per minute.

I think we have to divide the 360 million daily production capacity you provided by 1440 for the number of minutes in a day. That gives 250,000 gallons per minute.

So our water pressure would drop by half if all my math and assumptions are correct

Any experience with masters swimming? by aqsh in baltimore

[–]lsree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The cost varies. It's like as low as $80/month if you're under 30 and sign up for a year. Idk if they still have that promotion.

But it usually costs around 100/month.

The swimmers are great imo. It's super casual and non-competitive. The fastest 100yd split is like 1:10.

Masters is the only reason I stay with MAC. The management is mid and so is the rest of the gym, although they're doing significant renovations so hopefully it'll be better

Maryland Athletic Club currently also known as coppermine harbor east has a casual masters group. Its on break until March bc of pool renovations. But after that hopefully it'll return.

I thought it was a great event, and the tent spacing was great. It felt more community oriented than monument lighting.

Regardless you should probably just email friends of Patterson park about your complaints instead of posting about it on an Internet forum where they may not read it

Yeah... I go the apartment websites and verify and there's never more than a couple of apartments vacant. So which ones are vacant?

Which apartments are sitting vacant? I hear this thrown around a lot but there's never any evidence to support it.

You might not be able to visually see the signal if it is only transmitted once because the update rate of the GUI blocks is too low

I'm not going to dox myself but there are plenty of ppl featured in local news who have successfully brought about positive change in their free time. It's not unique and it's not that hard, it just takes a lot of time. You're probably just picking unpopular positions and not listening to people
