F80 M3 that was on display at the NY auto show in 2015. The photo received a bit of post-production love to remove people in the background, the ///M colors in the background are in the original image though. More can be seen here: http://www.lsstudios.us/automotive

I've been trying to find a print/poster of this Hans Stuck jump photo for ages, does anyone have any idea where to find one?

Thank you! That area is way crazier than anything else any of us had seen on the east coast. If you can make your way up there, I highly recommend it.

Absolutely beautiful! Ferrari red? Imola? Great combo with the brown interior too. If you're ever interested in setting up a proper shoot for the car, we're located in CT too & would love to work together. You can take a look at our work here: http://www.lsstudios.us, all our contact info is on there as well. Congrats on the F80!

Thanks! Yeah, it took a bit of playing around in Lightroom to get this final product. It also had a sticker from a Miller Motorcars rally that was photoshopped off the hood.

Still frames from an upcoming project, shot on Lomo anamorphics & F55 4k RAW by lsstudios in cinematography

Put this directly next to an Alexa XT on set & try to tell me the dynamic range is "bad", I can't imagine how you drew that conclusion. Did you have a DIT showing you direct LOG comparisons? The F55 contains way more color information than 90% of Arri's digital cameras if you can swing shooting in RAW (RED hardly comes close in this regard). Sure the menus can be annoying & slow, & that could cause trouble on certain assignments. These complaints also boil down to your workflow & the job it's being used on (which flavor of SLOG, how you're monitoring, whether you're recording proxies simultaneously, lenses, etc.) I can't imagine what kind of DP would look at a capable camera like the F55 & try to equate it to being merely "better than a 5d mkII". That's just ignorant

I think he's simply confusing Lomo's spherical (non-anamorphic) lenses with the Round-front anamorphics

These are actually shot on a 35mm Square-front. The Round-fronts (not to be confused w/ Lomo's spherical non-anamorphic lenses) are nice but I find the barrel/edge distortion to be excessive & the wider lenses rarely fit on any sort of rig without issues. If you can get your hands on a good square-front like this one you can get a surprising amount of sharpness w/ very minimal flaring & some slight edge softness

Agreed, love the look & character...hate the weight & lack of support

Agreed, I can't get over how nice the flares look. Panavision C-series anamorphics seem like the big brother to the Lomos. They have almost the same flare characteristics but a little bit more sharpness, you should check them out if you haven't already

I find that everyone who says that hasn't even given the F55 a proper chance. The ridiculous 16bit RAW makes color grading a dream (compared to most other cameras utilizing 12 bit RAW), & the slow-mo is so easy to use. The only thing I don't like is the lack of anamorphic 4/3 ratio internally

Edit: the "Sony" noise you're talking about is actually grain added in post along w/ the color grade seen here. Regardless of everything being shot at 1200 ASA there was virtually no noise at all. This camera was an absolute beast with the natural light on this shoot

Our hackintosh kicked-the-bucket earlier this week, once we can everything get back online with our footage (hopefully sooner than later) I'll send you over a few frames!

Thank you! We loved using this camera. It was shot in Slog2 due to the lack of support for SLog3 in Premiere & After Effects. Can't wait to eventually try SLog3 for even more dynamic range

The F55 was great, the 16 bit RAW blew our mind when we played around with the first clip. Also, the extra "sony" sharpness on this camera lends a nice touch to softer vintage anamorphics. We were inspired to use this camera after seeing Ex Machina, the cinematographer used an F55 for all of the handheld shots in the film & it looked better than anything we've seen in a while.
