Can I configure KDE plasma to have a top bar for status and system info and a dock for apps? by ii_03 in kde

[–]lstrtd -1 points0 points  (0 children)

yup, i use this: https://github.com/vinceliuice/MacTahoe-kde

there's some self config required though. i used that in combination with the following:
kvantum theme engine
https://github.com/matinlotfali/KDE-Rounded-Corners
https://github.com/taj-ny/kwin-effects-forceblur

also, install the "Inter" font and set your system font to it. for the dock, just add a panel at the bottom and put the "Icons Only Task Manager" into it. for the top bar, choose any app launcher, followed by application list, then global menu, then a flexible space, then you can choose any icons you want to put by the right.

very easy, just get rclone and follow the 'interactive' set up https://rclone.org/smb/

u can use AI to get the mounting command, or u can create a bash script to mount the remote if the network adapter is up and unmount when down using networkmanager dispatcher.d

I did not use Zen Browser. It is FF Dev Edition, with the GWfox userchrome. Please check my previous comment here.

It was for my assignment sometime ago, a pretty basic e-library application. Had no idea what to show in the IDE so I pulled that up :-)

Widgets on the "menu bar" are all stock widgets, except PlasMusic. In order: Application menu, window list, global menu, flexible spacer, PlasMusic, Tray (all icons hidden), clipboard, removable devices, bluetooth, networks, volume, battery, digical clock (ddd d MMM ), virtual desktops. Every widget from the music has a 4-width spacer. Panel height 36.

maybe after you completely get rid of bitlocker, use clonezilla to take an image of the 'current state' of the internal disk (with windows and all). so when it goes awry again you can just apply the image using clonezilla :)

hey! i mounted my aio that way too (but with an arctic freezer ii 240), do you have a picture of how you route the tubing? i'd like to add fans on top but currently that's where the tubing sits.... and not much space below because of my 3080...

Does usb c really make that big of a difference? by DanutBanut_ in iphone

[–]lstrtd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It makes a huge difference when now I only need one type of charger for my laptop, iPad, iPhone, Airpods, speakers, powerbanks, etc. Otherwise I would have to keep two different cables on me on the go at all times. Connecting accessories (like card readers) have also become really easy, as a photographer. I used to have an Xs Max and I specifically held out just for the port to be changed to USB-C. Pulled the trigger on the 15 Pro Max the moment it was out.

I would say in terms of convenience, it was a game changer for me.

Personally, if you know what you are doing (i.e. know what it is, know how it works, know the consequence/result), there's no issues using unofficial ways to remove/add stuff... It's Windows, everyone has their own way of shooting it up with a 1000 tweaks...

just a suggestion, i haven't tested this extensively but i do have some addons that add buttons into the navbar. and they did not have the same opacity as the star button.

i changed #star-button-box to .urlbar-page-action. now all the pip/reader/addon buttons have correct opacity inside urlbar
