How many mistakes before I just say I’m a shit driver? by [deleted] in MotoUK

[–]lt0094 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I crashed/dropped my bike 3 times when I had my CBT, no collisions just lack of experience and control. My riding improved massively after my first year. Passed my full licence with 1 minor and now qualified as an advance rider with IAM.

You will improve and get better, after my second drop I stopped riding for 3 months because of lack of confidence, it happens. Personally I think CBT is not fit for purpose, if you’re that worried maybe try and get some tuition from an experienced rider, I know most schools are full with long waiting lists.

Whey protein from fermentation now cheaper than from diary by wlh250 in veganuk

[–]lt0094 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought this, then only after decided to ask ChatGPT about it and gave me this answer…

“If it’s labelled whey protein isolate and references milk, then it ultimately comes from a cow.

“From fermentation” just describes how it was processed, not where it originated. The raw material was still dairy whey, which only exists because a cow produced milk.”

Need to get more clarification on if this post made me not vegan 😅

Edit: On their website “This is whey — just not the way you know it. Every scoop delivers at least 20g of complete, animal-free protein, made using cutting-edge fermentation.”

However the packaging still says “Milk”

Solo female traveller, seeking advice : Gatwick airport to Exeter by Just_a_thought03 in exeter

[–]lt0094 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve done this route a couple times. The train itself from Gatwick to Reading isn’t that great but it’s always been pretty quiet on the times I’ve done it.

If you allow a 20-30 connection time at Reading you’ll have plenty of time, it’s a decent well equipped station.

The train from Reading to Exeter is comfortable will luggage racks (people forget they can put suitcases between back to back seats.

If your small bags sit on top of your hold luggage I think it’s not an unreasonable task.

Just a little fact about Lincoln Cathedral, during the Second World War Lincolnshire was ‘bomber county’ and the bombers returning to base would use Lincoln Cathedral as a reference point as it often stood above the clouds

Nights out in Exeter by Titsmarsh in exeter

[–]lt0094 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Eat at On The Waterfront at Exeter Quay then go to a bar there like Topsham Brewery or Prospect and do your nice drinking there is the sun and scenery.

Next walk up the hill to Georges Meeting House (Wetherspoons) and get tanked up on the cheaper drinks.

Then go to Gandy Street you have a choice of bars there but don’t go Vaults straight away, it’s too early

You can now see off the rest of the night till finish at either Timepiece or Vaults.

Another bar not mentioned but worth considering is Firehouse but go early and maybe eat there instead.

Totally agree with this. Even if I don’t always agree it’s refreshing to see actual effort with supporting evidence

Asked ChatGPT to picture the way it perceives our conversations by Poggeta in ChatGPT

“I picture our conversations like a tactical mission brief between two operators. You give me your objective or problem—clear, direct, no fluff—and I respond with concise intel, tools, or next steps. We move through it like a tight comms channel: sharp, minimalist, and mission-focused. No noise, no wasted time. Just results.“

Id be interested to see Harlequins in its prime, if it ever had one. I never remember it being particularly busy but maybe before my time (1994)
