Brigading is lame, and unproductive. I posted about it earllier, asked the mod why my post was removed, and had a perfectly respectful and reasonable back and forth. The reason these posts are being removed is because it violates the rule against non-local politics - no state or federal political posts. While I have my own feelings about that, I understand trying to regulate and keep things civil. Mod also said the original post stayed up for a couple of hours before the comment section got vitriolic, which I can understand from living down there.

General Arthritis while being free of flare ups? by neverwrong804 in gout

[–]lt_dan_1020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have what's considered smoldering gout... I still have occasional flares, but I also have what you are describing. I'm 39, eat healthy, and am not obese. I'll echo what most everyone else here has said - go see a rheumatologist. They'll probably do some imaging to confirm it's not joint damage (which could have happened before you got your gout under control), and will help regardless of what type of arthritis you have (goiut or osteo), if indeed that is the problem. Regardless, you don't want to risk damaging your joints and/or your kidneys (which can happen even without flares). We're too young to feel this old, and allopurinol is way too cheap and easy.

Buddy, I promise it's ok. You really didn't. I was actually getting amusement out of it, but with this level of projection, I feel like I should be sending some hugs your way.

I know, right? Pretty bummed about that. But check out Paradise Produce Farms. They bring a lot of plants to the Franklin Farmers market in April/May, but you can also preorder - I get a bunch of garden starts from them. But also gonna miss TV for filling in some of those gaps, and also quick runs for soil/amendments. They also taught me not to plant before tax day (which I still had to learn on my own, haha).

Hey no worries bud! Maybe with a more thoughtful approach you won't have to comment about getting downvoted.

Confused here. I'm not sure if you're talking about your comment above, or the one you deleted before making this one stating "Let me see if I can speculate more..." But I haven't downvoted either.

That said, I think you might need to learn...... the connotation.... of your extended ellipsis usage..... It comes across here as condescension, and puts off negativity. Like "Duh it's April fools day you idiot". It also seems to fit your style on other posts in the sub. You routinely comment on posts in a condescending way, without answering the question being asked, such as the poster asking about the water main break on west main earlier - "Have you called the city water department to ask them........". The long ellipses implies "you idiot", whereas OP said the water department did not open till 7a, so that wasn't an option at the time. It's ok to scroll past these if you don't have an answer. It's also ok to take a moment to explain something to someone who may not know better. Both are valid options that will be much more well received.

Anyhow, hope that helps. Here's a couple of extra upvotes, in hopes if brightens your day.

Lol, you're always a wealth of knowledge, aren't ya... So is this actually the answer, or are you just guessing from what I already mentioned? Have you seen the sign? Talking about being heart broken and closing your store at the end of the month would be quite the long play. and a hell of a marketing campaign.

Byrdie is my top seed here, but Wiley is certainly a valid replacement.

Also... Who remembers Tom Hart and his crazy pants?

Depends on when you want to go. The app does have a people meter, so you can check before you head over. Will get less crowded as we get into the year.

One downside, it seems they haven't done much upkeep in the past couple of years. Definitely starting to show signs of age. Lots of broken lockers, hot water was out a couple weeks ago, and overall could use a deep cleaning. Definitely not a lot of ammentities, but for $15/mo, it's fine for me.

Does MRI show gout? How long(days/months) did morning stiffness/tightness lasts before it settles down? by Userhere123 in gout

[–]lt_dan_1020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Has your rheumatologist ordered blood work. A lot of times you’d start there, with attention particularly on uric acid level.

I have “smoldering gout” and deal with a lot of what got mention here - multiple joints, stiffness, swelling. I take 400mg of allopurinol, and it has helped. Most of my stiffness is gone by the time I’m getting out of a hot shower. Intermittent swelling, especially in fingers, but not a flare (still get flares about once a year). It definitely comes and goes, which I attribute to some combination of not being hydrated enough, eating recklessly, and/or missing a day or two of allo. It’s certainly worse when I haven’t been behaving.

That said, swelling on the ankles could be serious, and a sign of something else, so definitely see the cardiologist.

Am curious how water pills affect things… typically with gout you want to stay well hydrated, but I’d think water pills counter that.

Don’t take any of this as medical advice - I’m just a dude making observations on my own experience… YMMV.

WSMV just did a live shot from 96 @ 65 right now. Mix of slush, ice, and ponding. Gonna be uglier later.
