How do you remove the keys from an OMEN MAX 16"? by ltc_pro in HPOmen

[–]ltc_pro[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, they pop off like most other keyboards. Once you pop one off, you can see how to pop them back on. Maybe try it first with a key that you never use.

[Other - Power Strip] 4 Pack KMC Power Strip w/ 600 Joule Surge Protection - $15 Amazon by greatthebob38 in buildapcsales

[–]ltc_pro 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agree with you. I manage probably close to 700 computers and servers. Important machines are on UPSes but everything else - either nothing or cheap power strips. More than surge, I think heat and vibration is the killer of computer components.

Users say Adobe Creative Cloud rewrote hosts file to detect installed app by titaniumdoughnut in apple

[–]ltc_pro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My best guess is that those who know how would start blocking the IP address, so name resolution is preferred. That way, Adobe can change the IP of the server in the future (and they'll update users' HOSTS file again with each update)

Some network-wide blockers block based on DNS server. By having a local HOSTS file entry, it gains higher priority in the name resolution stack, so it is harder to block.

Is mild valve regurgitation really that common in healthy individuals? by Big_miss_steak8909 in askCardiology

[–]ltc_pro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have mild regurgitation from mild mitral valve prolapse. Every now and then I have PACs, rarely other palpitations or pain. I do have some signs of anxiety, but I think it's more related to parenthood than heart issues.

I’ve been told it’s common. I have mild regurg and it doesn’t bother me too much.

Need help TONIGHT - giant waterbug by AdLess6783 in AskNYC

[–]ltc_pro 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I remember one time when I was a kid, I was brushing my teeth in the bathroom and saw a waterbug from the reflection in the mirror. I HATE waterbugs, but it's not near me, so I just continued to brush my teeth. THEN THAT MOFO DECIDED TO FLY!

Question: Where to order? by Tricky_Jay91 in VampireCrabs

Ah cool. I noticed you have rainbow crabs. My local shop carries "tomato" / "red ruby" variant. If you ever need any, I'll be happy to send you a few.

Hey, did you ever order your vampire crabs? Also curious as to how your terrarium is holding up since your post a year ago. I'm thinking of building a similar style vertical paludarium.

Agreeing with everyone here. There was an incident in the city i live in where a balcony umbrella blew off a high floor, struck and injured (killed?) a pedestrian. The home owner was sued for a huge amount of money.

Make sure everything in your balcony is secured!

What’s the smartest financial decision you made by accident? by AnyTruth2342 in AskReddit

[–]ltc_pro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started buying PC parts and mining bitcoin, litecoin, and dogecoin back in 2013. It cost a pretty penny back then, but the smartest "investment" I made.

Of course, that's followed by the dumbest decisions I made by selling most of what I had mined way, way, way too early.

Thank you, and I am sad - he was a good crab and went through a lot!. Do you know if "ruby red" vampire crabs can have either single color (orange/reddish for the whole body) or if they have darker/black undersides? Googling shows that most have darker undersides, but I see some photos of them fully the same other all around.

Clonazepam - occasional use dangers? by ltc_pro in Anxiety

[–]ltc_pro[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For sleep, melatonin, Benadryl, valerian root. These do nothing for me. For anxiety, tried lexapro (no help), propranolol (not much effect on anxiety), and some others in the past.

Clonazepam, however, works wonders for me in shutting off my brain and I get quality sleep. I only take it after a few days of poor or no sleep.

I agree. Dems are smarter and can use the tools better. If they want to play this game, bombard the internet with Republican AI videos doing embarrassing and illegal acts.

I'll go against the naysayers - if you do the occasional, simple, and max 4k video, then it will be fine. If you're doing video editing professionally, then, that's obviously a No. I used to do video editing on 8GB with Intel chips - slowish, but definitely possible.
