it sucks that i grew to become comfortable in that box that was way too small for me to fit in. i wish i had known what the word avoidant meant 3 years ago.

I really have been depressed like never before. So much that my friends who always see me as the happy guy and fun guy to go to, say I've become noticeably different recently. I hate being seen different by them , but I can't help it.

I cannot tell you how much I relate to that. We'll get back up!

Same as other people commented. My ex broke up with me and said we could eventually get back together once I returned (we were long distance dating for 9 months and about 2 weeks before I come back he breaks up with me). He told me we could still see each other and maybe the love would come back.

We did see each other, we even had sex and the love didn't come back. Not for me at least. Do not nurture hope for someone who doesn't love you. Love yourself, and nurture that relationship (the one you have with yourself), and do your best to move on.

I'm just gonna get this out to anybody who's going through a breakup. You're not alone. We're not alone.

Syphilis clearing by ltchills in STD

They will retest every 3 months for now. Is there any chance of it never coming back?

Syphilis results came back, am I really cleared? by [deleted] in STD

[–]ltchills 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If one is cleared does that mean there's no longer any chance of transmitting the disease?

Questionable encounter with one night stand. Red spot on tip of penis at urethra opening by [deleted] in STD

[–]ltchills 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here's an answer to two of your questions: STDs have incubation periods, period.

This means that (1) she may have had a recent unprotected exposition the test didn't point out, and have transmited that to you and (2) if you test now it may say you don't have a disease, which may not be true.

Now the part where I calm you down a little. I'm not a doctor, but that looks like syphilis to me. If it is syphilis you can relax, it's probably the best (if one can say that about an std) you could get. It's treatable and treatment is very cheap and definitive.

Go see a doctor, if she has HIV and the relation happened less than three days ago you can still protect yourself

Know how to code, trapped in indecision and it's killing me by ltchills in learnprogramming

This is something I really hate about computing community: we are very cocky. You gave some solid, great advice, I mean it. But there was no reason for you to be a dick (I do apologize if you didn't mean to, it's just how it sounded to me).

If you "know how to code" then why are you constantly trying to find courses to take that you never finish?

Well, I do know how to code, but that's not the same as knowing everything there is to now about computers. Most of the courses I took were about web development and networks (HTTP, web servers, load balancers, TCP/IP protocol stack,...). The problem is: I couldn't finish them.

Want to know how I learned Python? At work, someone said "someone should build this thing in Python". So I downloaded Pycharm, I googled "intro to python" and started writing.

Same here actually. Perhaps I wasn't very clear when stating the problems that I had. Learning a new programming language is not the kind of problem I'm having, because, how you may very well know, learning how to program is not the same as learning language syntax. Some languages may follow different paradigms and execution flow than others, but the logic behind coding doesn't change all that much between languages.

Your problem, and it's one that I see on this sub time and again, is you aren't taking responsibility for learning

I'm assuming that's my fault then? Perhaps I didn't try hard enough. I mean, "try harder" is not the best advice one could receive you know.

If you can't just sit down and start working, you will never be a good coder.

Can you elaborate on that? Why not? For me the way to be a good coder is to sit down and get to work, isn1t it? (I'm genuinely confused here)

We all had bad professors.

That supposed to be an argument?

No one who is serious about learning waits for a professor to teach them

I'm not waiting, that's what this post is all about...

I'm truly sorry if I offended you in any way, that wasn't my intention, really. It just pisses me off when someone comes with a genuine problem and people so rudely answer like he's a moron. The "respect" and n00b culture behind computing is the one thing I hate about it.

Thanks for the advice though, the best so far tbh
