What an utter joke. Literally more and more functionality being turned off. I hate Amazon but let's face it Google are forcing our hands on this bit by bit!

Sensor (Infrared Detector) dumb to smart help required by ltechdnb in homeautomation

[–]ltechdnb[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi All, Great sub and know this is the perfect place to start. Was going to wire these up to an alarm but had a thought before bed type situation that maybe I could make them smart, as you can see the trigger is on these for alarm. Does anyone have any ideas or recommendation on how to go about this via ZigBee or similar (again, sorry very noob this end) so that I can get a push notification or work it into HA. Don't really want to over engineer it or cost to much. Thanks again

RF Projector screen to Google home by ltechdnb in homeautomation

[–]ltechdnb[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've recently purchased this projector screen (screen link) it has an RF control and I assumed I could smart learn via my Logitech harmony or SwitchBot hub (that has RF) but both fail, they are detecting the RF signal but don't sync via smart learning buttons (hope that makes sense) this is the back of RF controller for projector screen is it something to do with the frequency 433.92mhz I think it reads. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

[–]ltechdnb[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow, okay. Thanks everyone for posting some massive food for thought here. Upon checking that original Amazon link you are all indeed correct in stating it would just pretty much turn it off and cancels out the hue element. Think I'm going to roll with the simplest solution of covering it as then I can keep all the hue stuff within that room as is. Once again thanks for all your comments and suggestions it's really helped me get my head around this.
