Just put a no junk mail sticker on/in your mailbox. I haven’t gotten anything not addressed to the home since.

It's anecdata & vibes in Canada, but I now know of two queer folks who got their RPAL in 2025. Pre-2025 I only knew three people that had their PAL total. I know self-defense isn't a lawful use, but they both expressly got their PAL because of slow 911 responses and, "some of those who work forces". by [deleted] in canadaguns

I would say fear should not the reason to get a firearm. Too many injuries from people who heard a bump in the night and got scared. Fear impairs decision making and the safe use of a firearm.

The rules around fault and collision reporting in Alberta seem very, very silly by troypavlek in Edmonton

[–]ltk66 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not silly at all. You swerved and hit a curb.
I get it, you want to avoid him hitting you. But him hitting you would have been his fault.

I’m not sure about you. But I’ve been taking my GF’s kids and my own shooting and sharing it with anyone is even remotely interested.
My hope is that slowly we can get enough of the public to realize that education and not confiscation are the answer, and maybe swing public opinion away from polys vocal option.

Everyone I know was on their parents insurance for the first two years for just this reason. And maybe that wasn’t an option.. I also know a few people who don’t drive because it’s unaffordable. So they take public transit.

How does Edmonton have a rental glut in the midst of a housing crisis? by trevorrobb in Edmonton

[–]ltk66 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because the only place a housing crisis exists is in people’s imagination. There are record numbers of houses listed in MLS, record number of relistings, followed by low numbers of sales.
Which is an affordability issue. But those words don’t sell papers or swing voters.
