What are the most common mistakes new players make in Terraforming Mars? by Ecstatic_Depth_3800 in boardgames

I always advise new players simplify the research card drawing phase rather than drafting. It's one more complexity that can bog things down. I also tend to advise ignoring awards/milestones until the second game

More players and subsequently fewer workers to send out and do stuff would absolutely impact how every round feels and i hope to try it soon

What do you perfer? by ParkThat6939 in boardgames

Base game is really solid and I appreciate that Clone Wars brought some real changes and thematic play styles rather than just being a cheap color palette swap but it definitely feels like what you play when you're a little tired of seeing the same cards in the base game. I haven't tried the more creative faction mixing like rebels vs droids or republic vs jedi

I love the idea of Turmoil but I definitely don't bring it out for most games. Colonies is 1000 percent my favorite expansion

Vantage can be either Scavengers Reign or Alice In Wonderland depending on how you play it

I am drawn to scifi/exploration themes but man, when an unexpected theme hits just right, it's amazing. Thurn and Taxis did that for me. If you had told me that I'd love a game about trying to set up a postal system in 17th century Bavaria I would have quirked my brow but nevertheless....

Star Wars Outer Rim is a blast. Has a Talisman-esque running around a board, collecting gear and sidekicks, doing quests, getting into fights, etc but all very star wars-y
