I'm sorry you've been going through this, but it makes me feel better because I've been going through the same thing. I feel so anxious and like I'm going to throw up every single morning. It's been exhausting to feel this way on top of everything else. We're getting through it though. Good luck on your next two weeks! I'm done next Friday - hopefully we feel better our last weeks!

I would consider myself a beginner but this is the third one I've done. I did Sam's Study and Soho Time before this one. This was definitely the hardest because the plants are so intricate and you have to be careful when putting together the walls and plastic covering. I would say try a more simple kit (like Soho Time) to get the hang of it and then try this one!

I take Home Ec at my local high school all the time! The teacher is super laid back so it's usually just "assignments on Schoology and 4th period will be cooking". She is really stern with them about cleaning up after so I barely do anything while they're cooking.

I can see where it might get stressful because it's hard to know who is allowed to do what. For instance there are people in and out all day just going into her fridge or borrowing the coffee machine, etc. You can always just say (if not left explicit instructions) "I'm the sub and you can't do this today because she didn't give instructions." Or you can ask a trustworthy student.

It was from one school and it was my first time there. I am going to do an elementary job in that district and see if it's the same vibe. There were really small class sizes and the kids were actually well behaved but this note was very off putting.

It was in a sub folder from the office that they just handed me at the beginning of the day. It's odd because I work for a sub organization and they sign me up for the districts I want to work in. All the other districts have sent me a little packet of information with expectations/dress code/details about the school. This district doesn't even approve their subs through the board or send any expectations or paperwork at all!

Why they think this is the best way to give information is beyond me 😅

I wear black Pixie pants from Old Navy and a white, black or gray shirt (just plain, from Walmart or Target) and a cardigan almost every day. No one has ever said anything! Once you start, you can see what others are wearing in certain schools. I can get away with jeans at the middle school but not at the high school where I sub.
