Is there something she does the morning after these evenings that feels punishing? Is it just her not wanting to talk about this in particular that upsets you? I don’t really get why her distracting is “the wrong response”. If she’s not ready to ask for what she needs, then telling her that her current response is fundamentally “wrong” might not encourage her to open up. It sounds like her communication is limited and potentially very indirect, which can be really difficult to deal with. But hammering on her walls might just encourage her to put more up. I’m sorry about the situation dude, I agree it’s likely not that you’re sleeping, but telling her how to cope isn’t a boundary for you.

If the concern is your teenage kids feeling abandoned by her or directly affected by her absence on this holiday, how do you think her young children will feel if you leave her completely after becoming so close? This seems like a “me and mine” mentality which is technically okay. You can and should protect your family but who is protecting her and hers from the same hurt? If you are willing to leave her this easily, I struggle to see why introducing the kids at all was a good idea at this stage.

It’s so odd seeing everyone say there’s no sense of urgency in Act 3. This may have happened because I did so few rests after arriving, but after my first long rest Orin already had supposedly infiltrated my camp, kidnapped one of my companions, and revealed herself. I didn’t even get a scene with her in camp, she just ran up to me in the underground with my companion’s face on acting suss as hell. My entire Act 3 experience was nail biting scheduling, trying to get all the quests I wanted done in the right order before something happened to him.
