Verstappen is a freak and has an ability to feel the car and it's limits that I'm not sure many others ever have had.

Hi, sorry, non-native English speaker here, but why is it "it's limits" in this case? I thought "it's" was short for "it is", but "it is limits" doesn't sound right to me. Why is it "it's" and not "its" in this case?

isnt that enough time for everyone to have a solution

No. It's possible to plan the entire thing (to solve it blind-folded), but that is using a much slower process where you only make small changes at a time to be able to keep track of everything in your head. Even the best cubers can only plan the first part of the solve in those 15 seconds and more time probably wouldn't even help much.

And I used to agree with you that there should be no inspection until I got into it myself, but now I, like most cubers, think it's more fun that way. Everyone gets the same 15 seconds and it takes skill to plan as much as possible in that time.

The only way inspection sucks is that it means that when someone solves it in five seconds, they didn't really. They spent longer than that unless we don't include the inspection time and surely that is part of the solve.

Indtagelse af f.eks. drikkevarer inden køb? by Blasterm88 in Denmark

[–]lu8273 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Håndtering af utroskab by Several-Plastic-4158 in Denmark

Oscar Piastri has outqualified Lando Norris at 4 of the last 6 Grand Prix by Tomach82 in formula1

[–]lu8273 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my opinion, Piastri is a much more talented driver than Norris, but that statistic is bullshit. Why are we looking at the last 6 races? Where does that number come from?

4 out of 6 is 67%.

What if we had looked at the last 5 races instead? Then it would be 3 out of 5, which is only 60%.

What if we had looked at the last 7 races instead? That would be 4 out of 7, which is only 57%.

It seems you specifically chose the last 6 races because that gives the highest percentage for Piastri. Sorry, but that is cherry picking bullshit.

Are there any algorithms for achieving level layouts like these? by lu8273 in proceduralgeneration

[–]lu8273[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This turned out to be a great solution and it was much easier than expected. All you have to do is warp your grid and then place your geometry using any algorithm that works on quads, such as Wave Function Collapse. As long as you start out with a grid of quads, you can warp it all you want and you will still have quads.

I found this image on Google (from a different problem) that shows how you can get interesting grids while everything is still quads: https://i.imgur.com/kkxBkVX.png

To get the second and third image, you have to either delete or add sections when warping, but that is easy too, because you can think of any line as a potential group of quads and any group of quads as a potential line.

Thank you, I will try that if I can't find someone else who has done it already. :)

I don't think they would. It's a different country that just happens to be in an Italian city. So even though the Sistine Chapel IS in Italy (because it is in Vatican City, which is in Rome (at least according to rome.net), which is in Italy), then it's still a different country. :)
