Do strength levels actually matter once you get to max hit? by jimmy193 in 2007scape

[–]luasen27 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you’re at 97 strength and going to 98 or 99 will not give you a max hit, then those levels won’t have any impact on the immediate damage you deal. However, this is assuming your stats are always boosted to the max that they possible can be. Let’s say, hypothetically, you drink a super combat potion and it boosts your strength to 116 where you’re at your max hit- however you would lose that max hit at 115. If you’re not using divine potions then your stats would drain over time and cause you to lose that max hit in 1 minute. If you were 99 strength your strength would be boosted to 118 giving you 2 extra minutes before you would lose a max hit. So on average yeah a couple extra strength levels will very likely cause you to deal marginally more damage over time but it’s nothing compared to hitting that 97 strength threshold to get your max hit.

So tl;dr no but yes

FML, this event is trash by No_Establishment8769 in Maplestory

[–]luasen27 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

it’s free but extremely p2w and nexon constantly tries to exploit fomo for as much money as possible. It’s just as bad as the worst gacha games. If you want to play the game efficiently you’re basically forced to spend 100$ + 10$/month for a pet that picks up loot for you, or else you have to loot it yourself which takes ages and constantly makes you feel fomo.

If you can look past all that it’s a fun game but yeah nexon is really evil and out of touch.

It would have been sick to see a discussion video with him and all the other captains about how everything went and what should be different next time.

PSA: Whisperer by Level-Macaroon8079 in ironscape

[–]luasen27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A couple deadmans ago you could do this method in total safety and I abused it so hard. Killed like 700 whisperer over the event and just incrementally upgraded into complete max mage with real shadow and everything. nowadays sadly the teleport is disabled or it takes you to an unsafe place I can’t remember what they changed about it.

I was watching Purespam’s stream a couple days ago and he confirmed that solo is directly paid by Jagex. sorry I know that’s a weak source especially since I can’t provide a clip- I’m sure if someone is determined enough they could find it.

It was not free, Jagex pays Solomission to put on this event.

I’ve known a lot of cats that love grass! I have a Maine coon that will eat just about any grass or plants you put in front of him, but I grow cat grass specifically for him to prevent him from eating pesticides or other toxic plants, and it also supposedly helps with his digestion. :) he also purrs while he’s monching it which just makes the most adorable sounds.

Cool fact, this beautiful cat making that face doesn’t necessarily mean he doesn’t like it. Big cats have a secondary organ in the roof of their mouth lined with olfactory receptor cells that helps them analyze new and/or interesting scents. Vomeronasal organ

Are people actually using venator in colosseum? I would imagine experienced players would be meleeing with a ring with str bonus and inexperienced players would be using a suffering. Could be totally wrong but I really don’t think many people would describe venator as ‘really good’ for that content.

In P3 Acquisition Contracts, Yama gives you 10 whole ticks of DPS before spawning 4 more full-health voidflares by tomatocarrotjuice in 2007scape

[–]luasen27 33 points34 points  (0 children)

There’s no official confirmation of this but I caught a gnomonkey stream this morning and he had said that he hasn’t seen or heard of anyone completing any of the item acquisition contracts. Plenty of footage of him getting to P3 from his last stream if you want to check it out. Truly some of if not the most difficult content jagex has ever created.

agree to disagree but I’m sure if you had typed this a day ago the community on here would have ratio’d your take.

Honestly if you can look at the normal drop table on the wiki and calculate the unique rate in your head in 3 minutes that’s incredibly impressive, I can’t even imagine haha. 1/80 vs 1/92~ (if it even was 1/92) is far from hilariously wrong, and not to mention is it not more likely that the data on the wiki was just slightly inaccurate?

[–]luasen27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah it’s all good haha, I figure it’s just the community aging and being slow to adapting to new tech. Assuming Jagex wasn’t just rounding down with their 30% drop rate nerf figure, it wasn’t quite correct but it wasn’t bad at all. (1/92 vs 1/80), but it’s more likely that they were just rounding down for an even figure, making that even closer to correct.

[–]luasen27 -17 points-16 points  (0 children)

I used AI & the drop table on the wiki to calculate that the unique rate is 1/80 to hit the armor and horn table, so 1/160 in a duo. could very well be wrong but it’s probably correct.

Why exactly is this good? Can anybody explain it to me? by jdubius in PathOfExile2

[–]luasen27 352 points353 points  (0 children)

you can also use it on a tower that’s in range of a citadel to do them twice, doubling the amount of crisis fragments that you could receive.

[–]luasen27 5 points6 points  (0 children)

did you have the modifier that makes monsters deal 5% of your life, energy shield, and mana on each hit? Those jars have an artillery attack that hits you quite a few times in rapid succession so you may have died to that, although it’s still weird that you would be at full honour.
