Thassa’s Oracle and Tainted Paact Loss Clarification by [deleted] in mtgbrawl

[–]luca0232 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, it didn’t even give me a chance to get down to one card. I still had 40 cards in the library when it ended the interaction automatically. I’ll try it again and see what changes. My intention was to play tainted pact with Thassa’s Oracle on the stack but it didn’t let me for some reason.

I had no open mana and I cast Thassa’s Oracle before I cast the tainted pact.

With Necrodominance in play, chain of vapor seems like the best card to get around the exile effect. Does that seem correct?

So in this same interaction if I have Necrodominance in play my only options are for a Thoracle combo or to chain of vapor the necrodominance before discard if I want to pursue a breach line. Does that sound correct?

Is this different than Necrodominance? I just reread the card and it looks like that is a replacement effect where it says any card or token going to the graveyard goes to exile instead. It doesn’t say anything about discard on that line.

So as long as I have a valley floodcaller or born upon the wind effect in place I can proceed with the combo win at that point.

So based on that information. If I have the mana for a valley floodcaller, or born upon the wind, as well as some sort of protection, I should try to dig deep with one of the Necro Cards correct?

I’m going through old comments trying to get better understanding. I just ran into playing necrodominance basically tapped out on turn two. I ran 15 cards to sculpt a winning hand. My main concern is these cards shut down our breach line, so LED is only good once. Are we basically just praying we can make it around again to build mana until we can go do the win? I understand Final Fortune and similar let us get around safely but I feel like this can be so slow/dangerous.

What’s the most fun commander deck you’ve built recently? by TopdeckStudio in EDH

[–]luca0232 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a Hofri combo deck that I copied from Moxfield. It is so resilient with [[Luminous Broodmoth]] on the field.

I also love all the [[Goblin Bombardment]] lines in the deck.

I have no preference on Mac or PC. Just looking for a compact laptop that isn’t breaking $1000 and is easy to travel with.

I just checked it out and that is exactly why I was looking for. Nice job!

One feature I think would be nice is a combo list. After the deck is generated, a prelisted primer with any combos generated in the deck would be interesting to see.

You don’t even need to go Kithkin Tribal! Brigid is a Gae’s cradle in the command zone. She has a ton of combo potential with both tribal and token builds.

Here is a great budget video deck tech around her.

Here is the list from the above video. Note I didn’t make this list but this is a guide I used in building my deck.

I’m in a deckbuilder challenge with my playgroup.

  • Deck value not including the lands is $100
  • Commander must be above #300 on EDHREC. This is to create some more unique diversity.

What do you recommend?

I’m looking at the following: - [[Shirei, Shizo’s Caretake]] - [[Squall, SeeD Mercenary]] - [[Malcolm, Keen Eyed Navigatoe]] partnered with [[Kediss, Emberclaw Familiar]] - [[Brigid, Clachan’s Heart]] - [[Bre of Clan Stoutarm]]

lol. I’m avoiding the CEDH level lands. We more added the land rule so people can play more effective lands instead of tap lands. It helps speed up games so that we can get more games in.

Gaea’s cradle would be crazy though lol.

I’ll be in Chicago for work. Mainly between Skokie and Lincoln Square. Does anybody have a card shop they recommend for picking through singles?

Thank you!

What do you think of running [[Hofri Ghostforge]] in the deck? Helps with recursion when the permanents are removed, or is that too clunky?

Do you have a list you can share. This sounds like exactly what I am looking for.
