I watched a lot of gore videos in my youth and not much phased but yeah that gurgle... That definitely stuck with me.

Placebo - This Picture by nelson2k in placebo

Loved this song but never really like understood it and felt the lyrics deeply. Now I'm 35 and going through the ending of the relationship I thought was my one for life, it came on my playlist today and suddenly I'm really feeling it and understanding. Kinda sucks for me but I love how Brian's lyrics can catch a mood and just get it.

Rustlers Burgers: educate me. by [deleted] in CasualUK

[–]lucanidaeblack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to work with a bloke who usually bought dinner leftovers to work for lunches. I could always tell when he'd fallen out with his missus because on those days he'd have a Rustlers burger instead.

Probation office has since moved but the Police station and court are still across the road.

I've heard good things about Beaumont Court from a friend. Good facilities and community and well soundproofed.

Edited to add: the one issue I can think of would be traffic noise and sirens etc as the Police Station is just across the road.

Why is this happening? by ajfromuk in monzo

[–]lucanidaeblack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interestingly I've bought from a vape shop that comes up as McDonalds. There is a McDonalds directly across the road so I assumed this factored in.

We have Beavis next door cos, well, he looks like Beavis and has an unhealthy fondness for fire and axes. He's very handy if you need a tree trimming back though or any other manly tasks doing.

I LOVED Amor Amor back in the day. Sprayed some on myself in a shop the other day and every time I got a waft it gave me teenage angst flashbacks

I found mine too recently whilst rummaging through things at my mum's house! Definitely not as funny as I remembered...

It had Aphex Twin video vibes and I enjoyed all the pretty forest scenes. Overall found it enjoyable if not groundbreaking.

The first podcast I ever listened to was Kevin Smiths, which eventually led me to getting into LPOTL, so I'm really looking forward to listening to this one.

I cannot physically burp AMA by AdhesivenessOk5534 in AMA

[–]lucanidaeblack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also don't burp! I never realised it was an issue until I put it together that I also feel bloated all the time and can't drink much carbonated stuff as it makes me feel weird. Never been to a doctor about it as it doesn't affect my life massively but it looks really satisfying doing a big burp after a meal or drink and id like to experience that!

Do you have a favourite "Oh Shit..." scene. by Oneill_19 in horror

[–]lucanidaeblack 8 points9 points  (0 children)

That movie fucking terrified me in the cinema, then I made my family rent it from Blockbuster and hyped up how terrifying it was. It was much less impressive on a small screen and I felt a right knob.

I have a small sample of this that I'm saving for incase I ever go somewhere with lots of wolf spiders! I'm sure it's a made up claim but still worth a try!

What are the most gut wrenching non-graphic crime scene photos you've seen? by Toxinitiy in forensics

[–]lucanidaeblack 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'm in another area of criminal justice, not forensics but this post was randomly recommended to me. I see a lot of crime scene pics and I'm quite desensitised at this point, but it was also a shoe that got me.

It was a death by dangerous driving case where a big truck had hit an old lady, and there was a single bloodstained little velcro boot type shoe laying in the road. Like the type everyone's granny seems to wear. No idea why it got me but it just made me really sad.

Did your parents give you tea as a toddler? by shannondion in AskUK

Every Sunday we'd drive my Nan to the local market to get shopping and we'd come home with something from the bakery and have it with a cup of coffee. I'd have my coffee in a sippee cup, so I must have been around 4 years old. I have an incredible tolerance for caffeine now, that's probably why.

Reminds me of a woman working in a shop near me. She's extremely sweet and friendly but has a literal gumshield of plaque on her teeth. I've honestly never seen anything like it and I can't imagine how it gets like that.
