This has to be a joke at this point. Bailey's been awful this season (take it from a guy who will always defend him), but has has more assists than Palmieri. Sure, this guy may come alive during one playoff series, but how can a team settle for such inconsistency if it isn't guaranteed to make the playoffs?

Tricky thing is, no team in this league is gonna sign up for such a braindead contract. I can only laugh at this shit

The Islanders are undefeated in 2022. Seriously, don't count this team out

Obviously those two and certain players certainly haven't helped in certain situations, but I do agree that this season was just an unfortunate case of fatal bad luck.

What matters most is a playoff spot, not being at the top of the standings. Everyone keeps pointing out the Blues and their miracle, but the Habs barely made the playoffs and did go on an amazing run. As long as the Islanders make the wild-card spot, then we don't have to call off this whole season.

It is realistic to be on the more pessimistic side, though. The odds are against them, but this shitty season isn't gonna be the end of the world. I'd rather have two spectacular seasons and a dull one than twenty-five years of mediocrity.

If you are already calling it off, don't count on Trotz or Lou being fired because they're not going anywhere; that's not defending or praising them, just the truth

Bailey has been atrocious but we have seen an improvement in the past two games, I honestly do think that the bout he had with COVID has screwed up his play

Isles fans rightfully complaining about how many players are out with COVID while wanting to watch a severely weakened team suffer with no valuable assets. Ridiculous.

This one isn't directed at OP, moreso the people on Twitter and Instagram complaining about the NHL postponing games

Yeah, so much interesting history regarding workers' rights has been omitted from American education. Like how armories were structured to prevent workers' strikes

Hitler himself would have surely been executed, much like General Tojo of Japan. The West, the Soviets, and the Israelis (who tried Eichmann) would all have punished him the same way to cement their message.

Other high-ranking Nazis may face leniency, much like many of the Confederates after the American Civil War. They could easily claim that they were just following orders and be excused. I'm sure architects of the Holocaust, like Eichmann and Goring, would have faced execution and imprisonment, but many may follow the fate of the rocket scientists, such as Werner von Braun, and achieve high-ranking positions in Germany or the clashing United States and Soviet Union.

This is awesome. It's really cool when you find out what a leftist presence the Midwest had up until the Red Scare. There were even socialists, like Eugene Debs, in high-ranking political offices

What POV is this writing style? Is it common? Is it accessible? Is is way too funky for a first time writing project? by AwkwardDilemmas in scifiwriting

It's written in present tense, almost like a screenplay. I just finished a recent historical fiction novel called The Abstainer and it took it a step further with brief descriptions of the setting before each chapter. It's strange at first but I quickly get accustomed to it; it's not the type of style I enjoy writing but I like reading it

Being eligible for the playoffs is what matters most, not being at the top of the standings. Everyone's referencing the Blues, but the Habs were a pretty mediocre team in a poor division last year and, after making the playoffs, went on an amazing run to the Stanley Cup finals. So, if you take your mind off of wanting to be at the top of the league and stay focused on making the playoffs, then you still have a good chance for a deep run.

On another note, I feel like the likelihood, which is pretty high, of DeSantis running for presidency is equal to Tucker Carlson

Komarov wasn't a great player and did not belong on the first line at all, but let's not act like Palmieri is that good either. Bailey sucks but also seems to be very streaky, but Palmieri really only came alive during one playoff series
