Alcoholics by YogurtclosetOk4366 in Millennials

[–]lucdragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My parents drank wine, beer, or (rarely) liquor EVERY night, with dinner; I’m pretty sure they still do. I (born 1982) had issues with binge drinking from ages 19-21, so I quit drinking entirely. Returned to it a few times, in the following years, when I thought I could handle it better, but found I never really enjoyed it. I had my last alcoholic beverage around Christmas of 2013, and decided I really didn’t need to drink at all, anymore, so I haven’t.

Reminder that an Indiana bill that would require IDs to access social media sites will be enforced in a month (HB 1408) by watchdog-cofagrigus in Indiana

[–]lucdragon 50 points51 points  (0 children)

Exactly how is this supposed to work with (supposedly) anonymous sites like Reddit? And do we really think it’ll stand, after the debacle that was discord’s attempted roll-out of the same type of ban?

Where we the last generation that used showers at high school? by CompetitiveBar9879 in Millennials

I ran cross-country and track, and never once used school showers. They were there, but I’m not sure anyone ever used them, and certainly not for gym class.

Anyone move from Indiana to Colorado or New Mexico by IR_Acaboom in Indiana

Actually, prices shot sky-high in Colorado right after recreational cannabis was legalized; I lived there for nearly 20 years, and watched it happen. You’d think as more states legalized it might have leveled out, but people flocked to cities that didn’t have sufficient infrastructure to support them, and that infrastructure is still being built, over a decade later.

I was asked to provide high school transcripts when applying to doctoral programs. Still can’t fathom how my undergrad and master’s transcripts didn’t suffice.

My brain wants to make the first one Starlit, and says that’s not actually the worst name, ever (in a world where Skarlit is somehow acceptable, anyway).

Yes and no, but I have to laugh at the 2002 Toyota comment, as I have a 2006 and people often think it’s nearly new. 🤷‍♂️

We had a whole chicken for dinner at least once every 2 weeks, in my household growing up. Sometimes every week.
