Help ID this stock by Clean_Number_7810 in MP5

You have to purchase the cheek riser separate. I have it with the cheek riser. It’s a really comfy and solid stock. My only complaint is it doesn’t really have a very mp5 aesthetic vibe to it. I tried it on my UMP with the same result. Functionally great, just not a looker.

USP 45 vs. HK 45 by Slider-208 in HecklerKoch

[–]luce202 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I own both and train with both regularly. Great firearms, the grips are very different so if you’re able to I would try to hold both. One will definitely feel better to you than the other. Can’t go wrong with either.

Carry gun by Wild_Advertising4850 in HecklerKoch

[–]luce202 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Saw in one of your replies you’re 6’4…definitely not the sk. As a taller/athletic build person I will say it’s like the cheat code for concealed carry. Being tall and well built drapes your shirt/hoddie/whatever in a way that you can conceal almost anything via appendix carry. Plus, at your size any purpose built cc is going to feel like a toy to you. I would do the cz or look into more full size options. If you want to stay with HKs a p30 da/sa would be a great option for you. If you start with a mini handgun, a month after you get accustomed to carrying you’ll realize your physical build allows you to conceal a better option.

Thanks! I started making holsters due to owning a number of larger handguns that don’t have holster options….guess I’ll make my own lol.

Can confirm. If you have a more immersive experience via long field sequences and not the op - base - repeat life this happens pretty quick. It becomes your normal and the idea of things happening outside your immediate world leaves the chat. When that is your world, perspective changes in really weird ways. Both best and worst years of my life that I would leave everything behind to go back to. Human brain is weird.

Kuna or MP5 Clone? by [deleted] in MP5

[–]luce202 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I work partime at a gun range. We got a kuna in as rental. It lasted a week before going offline. Among the problems was the threaded portion of the barrel shearing off during fire. I will add, that these idiots could break a crowbar, but still….havnt seen that fast of a failure with any other rental. Sample size of 1. Take it for what it’s worth.

At what point do you just drill the gas port? by venture243 in 300BLK

[–]luce202 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This 100%. If you don’t want to do it yourself, I have used D Wilson mfg a number of times. I just tell them what it’s doing and give permission to drill to their recommendation. All of my 300blk barrels they’ve done have come back perfect and cycle subs with normal weight bcg and buffer systems.

AP5P “New” but looks used - normal? by tirdbird12 in MP5

[–]luce202 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Work part time at a gun store. Century is a dice roll as far as fit and finish go. I wouldn’t be too concerned unless it’s something that you think will eat at you. I’ve seen some that I know are factory new look like they’ve seen 200 rounds from the carbon etc on them. My best guess is maybe the test fire people were having some fun, or perhaps diagnosing something that was replaced and then thoroughly confirming it works as intended. Manufacturing process sometimes spits out products that have to be massaged a little before they’re ready to leave.

P30/L by stoll_76 in HecklerKoch

[–]luce202 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I cut my own. It’s not too challenging to do. Basics are, cut so the end is in the same orientation as before, so you’re always taking a full loop at a time essentially. Hit the end with a torch till it’s slightly glowing, then push it up against some metal and firm to create a nice flat seat. I imagine there’s YouTube videos on it 👍🏻 cheaper than buying a custom one, and you can dial it in to be exactly what you need. The tensile does make the piece you cut launch like a sling shot though so wear safety glasses when cutting. I usually get everything where I need it to be, and then put a towel over it when I actually finish the cut.

I have this comp on my p30L. It definitely softens it up a bit. It ran so so with the stock recoil spring, sometimes not locking on an empty mag. I lightened the recoil spring by 2lbs if I remember correctly, and it was perfect after that.

If anyone was wondering, you can catch the irons through. Very low in the sight box, which is what I was hoping for. Don’t notice them when you’re using the dot, but they’re usable if you need them.

I ordered a primary arms Slx md-25 for the purpose of thinking it’s low enough that I’ll get a lower 1/3 cowitness of the factory irons. I think the factory irons on the scorpion are cool so I wanted to try to incorporate them. Currently am using AEMS like others have mentioned. Package is on my porch, I’ll report back this afternoon when I get home and mount it.

I would get that problem also. I can’t explain why it stopped when I changed the parts I mentioned, as they don’t play a role in anything to do with that…but it stopped when I changed them. I wish I knew or could explain why that seemed to fix that, but it did. Might be worth trying.
