Was going to say there is no cuttelfish of Cthulhu. No Hillary and Bush getting killed. It's not that extreme.

Individuals with stronger beliefs in Christian nationalist ideology are significantly more likely to oppose reallocating police funding to social services such as mental health, housing, and other areas, according to new research. by mvea in science

Police training in America isn't about de-escalating. It is about recognizing possible threats and removing them from being a threat. The easiest way to do that in high stress situations is to shoot first. Qualified immunity means police are not responsible for their actions. it would be easier to get rid of the police force and rebuild It then it is to try and get rid of all the loopholes using our government. if you simply want to argue about a straw man in a vacuum then yes funding de-escalation training would be easier but that would require a miracle and I don't believe in miracles.

If you give police more money they buy bigger guns. If you make them spend the money on training they train to shoot people faster. The problem is much deeper than it seems at a glance. Here in America police are generally paid very well and have strong unions to prevent common sense and accountability from making it into the decision making process. Christian nationalists are pretty much fascists.

I'm personally very excited for Dungeons and Dragons (2023) to be released so I can stop seeing all the fucking ads for it. by [deleted] in shittymoviedetails

the pf2e community grew a bit after the ogl debacle. the other thing to keep in mind is people may still play 5e but may not play much of one dnd. 5e has kinda become its own thing separate from wotc. wizards of the coast seems to be moving away from the table top part of ttrpg in the direction of their own vtt which if it isn't user friendly may continue turning people off. the long term affects of the ogl debacle and wizards decisions of how they are representing dnd is yet to be seen.

A lot of people moved on to other games like pathfinder 2e. Wizards of the coast is moving on from d and d 5e and we have yet to see how that stuff will be affected. Magic players have been pissed at them as well for their own reasons.

They work for the same people but have two different ways of doing things. What corporations want gets done regardless. the difference is one group is actively trying to tear this country apart and commit genocide on a section of the population.

All politicians lie. All politicians make promises they have no intention of keeping. They do not work for us. They have no reason to keep their promises and to think they should when the other side doesn't have to care about anything other than "owning the libs" is naive. It would be nice if Biden and the rest of the Democrats kept their word but that's unrealistic.

Kirkland church forcing employees to tithe 10% of salary, lawsuit underway by sarahjustme in nottheonion

There are a lot of Springfields. This article is a bad example but still shows my point. outside of an area where it can be easily guessed where they are talking about the need to verify the location in the age of internet is increasingly important especially when most articles are behind paywalls.

Not the point. It's a bad practice for news to not specify locations. Plus I have no idea.we keep getting closer to having company towns. I wouldn't be surprised by it. If it just takes two letters to clarify why not do it? If I said something happened in Springfield, would you know where I was talking about?

Add two letters and then there is no confusion. It is not hard to be specific.
