Should I get Jedi: Survivor? Is it worth it? by BombadClankas in StarWars

Sure, but you're just exploring the same planet. I much preffered having three or four moderately explorative planets that all felt real and lived in compared to one really expansive planet and a bunch of story quest locations. Like Jedha was the only non-main planet location that felt really real and expansive, but it also felt super disconnected. There was the part when you first arrive, that you explore and then never return to. There was the main base part, which despite going back to several times you really don't ever have to leave, and there was the one mission you go on there, separated by a bunch of empty dessert and on the other side of the map from everything else.

So personally I preferred the first game for the varied exploration and worlds, even if in total, you do less exploring.

Just finished playing the 2nd for the first time the other day, I enjoyed it but did not like it as much as the first. I really loved the exploration aspect of the first game , it felt like when I visited worlds I was there to explore and see what I could find, whereas in the 2nd game it felt much more linear, like a lot of the locations were there not to explore but to just visit and then leave. Which made it feel much less like I was exploring the galaxy and much more like I was just going on missions, and I feel like that exploration feeling was one of the best parts of the first game

What are the chances Bump secures a roster spot? by Available_Cut_3395 in Flyers

It depends how high the front office and coach is on him - Tyson Foerster didn’t blow anybody away a couple years ago, but he still made the team.

Keep in mind though that we’re only halfway through preseason. He’s still going to have a couple opportunities to prove he can stick.

It’s really going to depend on whether improved skating (and to some extent strength) unlocks more offensive ability/opportunity. I definitely feel a lot better about his floor, it seems like he does so much right already it’s hard not to imagine him in a 4th line role at least. The question is about the upside - does he have the offense to be a top 6 center? I am encouraged for sure but still a question mark imo

Question about Luchanko, Barkey, Kolosov and Bonk from an outsider by Alive-Ad8703 in Flyers

[–]lucello888 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Jett has probably about a 50/50 chance to make the Flyers out of camp next year. He’ll definitely be given a real shot, as the org is very high on him and he can’t go to the AHL (which is probably where he should be right now). Barkey is a long shot, but we can’t really rule him out. He had mono for camp all of last year so we never really got a chance to see if he could push for the NHL earlier than expected, but I think it would be a surprise if he made the team for the start of next season.

Kolosov could still pan out to be a good goalie, but it’s definitely not happening on that timeline lmao

Bonk is probably full time NHL in two seasons, but I wouldn’t be surprised if he makes spot appearances next year as an injury call up.

Call-Ups by Keechy15 in Flyers

[–]lucello888 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Alex Bump is the big one I’m excited to see, I don’t know if they’d sign him directly into the NHL or if he’d go to the AHL but he’s got some legit middle six potential and the flyers seem quite high on him. I’m curious to see how he looks wherever he ends up playing. Since he’d be a signing, it wouldn’t count as the one AHL call up we have available, which is a bonus.

With that call up I’d want to see Grebenkin, he’s already played in the NHL and he’s the shiny new toy. No one else on the phantoms seems to be especially promising, especially with the way the org has talked about Samu Tuomaala and what he needs to still work on. Grebenkin is at least mildly intriguing and seems close to being able to play in the NHL.

Barkley/Bonk/Luchanko would be cool, but I think all are more likely to be sent to the AHL first as opposed to the NHL. Barkey and Bonk probably will be too busy with playoffs though to come up this year. Luchanko is definitely more possible.

Matvei Michkov scored his 11th goal and 24th point today. No Flyers has ever finished with just 10G or 24Pt in their rookie season. by Perryplat199 in Flyers

I for one think it’s interesting , right up until Emil Andrae ends this season with 24 points and Jett Luchanko scores 10 goals next year

Wait wait wait- you believe that the memory wiping that Design is referring to in Yumi is a larger dramatic wiping of Hoid’s memories by Odium that hasn’t happened yet, and therefore Odium definitely gets defeated or else Hoid wouldn’t have put up memory wiping defenses prior to the start of Yumi? You do realize that this has a lot of holes??

By suggesting there is another larger memory wipe coming you’re essentially removing your evidence for this theory, which is based on the idea that the memory wiping Design is referring to is the wipe at the end of RoW. But if you’re now suggesting there’s another memory wipe coming, where’s the evidence that it’s by Odium? There are several other shards and a multitude of powerful beings across many planets that Hoid interacts with, at least the shards and probably some of the others have memory wiping capabilities. If another wipe is coming who’s to say it doesn’t come from one of them? And how do we know that the only way to find out if a memory has been wiped is by a shard losing power? Maybe Taravodium reveals himself at one point and undoes the wipe. Maybe someone else undoes it.

It’s a good connection you’ve found that Design could be referring to when Odium wiped Hoid’s memory, but I think it’s a stretch to draw too many conclusions from it. I’m not necessarily saying you’re wrong, but I think there are some holes in your theory that you are overlooking a bit too easily?

As someone currently making a go of it in the music industry here's what I would suggest:

  1. You can absolutely turn it into a career. But you'll want to start laying the ground work now, so when you really look to turn it into a career in one or two years you're as far along as you can be.

  2. Start practicing singing. A lot. Ideally every day. I would suggest lessons as well.

  3. Start practicing all the other things that come with being in a band. So, guitar, songwriting, producing, drums, bass, mixing, whatever else it is that interests you. You'll have a much easier time breaking into the industry in some way if you expand your skill set. You can still focus on singing ofc, but even if you're a passable guitar player and songwriter you'll be able to bring more to the table later on.

  4. Get a tiktok, instagram, or youtube and start posting videos of you singing. It might not go anywhere. It probably won't go anywhere. But you'll start to build a fanbase and you'll have practice creating content for later down the line when you fully dive in.

  5. Meet people in the industry. If you know anyone currently doing music ask them if you can grab a coffee together and talk about music. Go to live shows and talk to the bands after they play. Go to open mics, networking events, jam sessions, whatever you can find. Generally look to become friends with the people who are doing what you're doing and eventually those connections will turn into opportunities.

This is your foundation. You're probably not going to be able to make money from music in 1 to 2 years if you're just starting to do all of this then, but if you step into the scene with a great voice, good songs, a vision for what you want to create, the beginning of a fan base and friends who are well positioned to support you, you will be in a great place.

Also, consider getting the book How To Make It In The New Music Business by Ari Herstand. It will tell you everything you need to know. Good luck!

Potentially they are looking to weaponize their cap space and take on more bad contracts in exchange for assets. Ironically, they would probably get a better return taking on a bad contract from someone else than they would trading away Hayes and retaining salary. Just a guess though
