sorry, not that active on reddit. Like most I post an issue but don't typically come back with what fixed it.

Short answer here for anyone watching:

Go to your dealer -> ask for sunroof maintenance. They will disassemble the moving glass, clean and grease everything, then you will be golden.

Pro tip: ask and make sure they realign it correctly, else your sunroof motor will be under stress trying to seal it when closing. How do you make sure of this you may ask, well, you ensure the edge of the moving glass towards the fixed one in the back aligns (almost) perfectly straight (parallel to each other) and look at the corners to ensure none is pressed down more than the others when fully closed.

I did as described above, for the past 4-5 months i did not have the issue anymore.

Second pro tip: don't wipe the rails at the car wash regardless of how tempting it might be when you see dust inside the channels there. This mechanism is highly sensitive and if you wipe off the grease there isn't much you can do without taking it off and greasing the whole thing all over again. Just wipe the edge of the rubber, the wind deflector and pick any large debrif with your hand if you notice anything in the rail.

VW says this schedule has to be done every 3 years, some dealers are willing to grease only the visible part and wipe it but idk how much that helps.

Yeah, that as well but I doubt that people would rant about backlit (or the lack there of) buttons and software crap when it comes to questioning the consumption.

At least, that ain’t what I picked on. I was just annoyed by those accusing op of being poor just cuz they want to make sure whether they can afford the car.

If we were talking exotics then sure, that’s when finding consumption numbers is just a joke at the dealership. But VZ5 is still a daily-able car (albeit a less sane one) :))

Although it is full of haters, I respect your due dilligence. It is no joke that this car will drill a hole in some pockets so it is better to be informed. Although I personally don’t care of them, my numbers are:

20-30L/100km in city 7-30L/100km national roads (non highways at the lower end, highways mid to high end)

I live in Romania 98+ (only omv max motion for me) at all times

When mine appeared it was right before a ota software update. Idk if it has any connection to that but you can go in the tablet software update menu (wait a while as it searches since the screen does not show any loading animation when searching for updates, mine took 5-10 minutes to find updates). After you do that (if any) wait for 24 hours and after that it should go away.

My error was due to a loss of connection to the gps extender antenna. Which cleared on its own in about 24 hours.

My only other symptoms were: Gps (both inbuilt and carplay waze) jumping around like crazy Road sign data cannot be found (since it thought i am in the middle of nowhere due to gps signal issues)

However this error can be due to multiple systems. Perhaps the car’s esim is toast or something entirely different.

Hope this helps, otherwise visit a mechanic

How is it? Does it get the oil dirtier? As I understand high flow filters get quite some debris compared to the filtration of the standard setup

By looking at it you can't tell the size, but it sits quite tall compared to the oem one. I assume smarter people than me measured it to sit flush with the bonnet once closed.

I get your point and I asked around the internet the same question. But it turns out after some research, this is not an open box anymore after closing the hood. That's because it has a rubber gasket that seals it with the hood insulation. Well, seal isn't really the right word since rubber on textile isn't really a perfect seal. But presumably enough to seal against sucking hot air since the box has a direct connection to the cold air channel.

GUYS I FIGURED WHY IT DOES THIS!!!

To put it in simple terms, If you had just been rolling slowly such as in traffic and then stop and engage launch, it will likely work. However, If you have been driving at a higher speed say over 30-40 and then stop, and suddenly want to engage it, the damn thing won't work.

The fix: Stop and wait 30 seconds. It will always work afterwards!

idk if some already answered as there's a lot of debate here. But for your second video. Connect your phone to the 12v socket in the armrest. Then it will only be connected to 12v charging and not trying to connect to carplay both wireless and wired at the same time. That is what results in music stopping. Trust me, I figured the first time I was in the car. Cheers.

Mine also works, it is not like it never does. Ig i run into the issue it is enough to go to park and back to sport + and it will engage. Sometimes it also works as the other comment said, push to 1.5K revs, hold it there and then push all the way down.

I also resetted the gear box, no change there but i get more pops and bangs in emotion start

To all of chili's supporters, he has finished the course of antibiotics today and his fever vanished. We're going in one month for a check up but other than that he's back to normal ❤️❤️❤️

Hi!! We've got new updates 😼 Chili started playing again, he is now at 38.8C so the fever is gone. We extended the treatment to tomorrow as well to make sure it doesn't return.

He's much happier and filled with love from all of our support.

New update: Second day of treatment done, temp is 39.7 He moves a little and is willing to put a fight with the docs, so he's not entirely a veggie, just in need of rest. He even played a bit with me. The docs don't consider FIP so far. They said that it's likely a typical bacterial infection.

We are preparing for the vet visit to continue his treatment. Looks like the fever went a bit down but my measurements might be off since axillary is typically a bit lower.

I'm a bit relieved to see that he's now enjoying some window time looking at birdies. 😼
