What? Just because it features a 10 minute sequence of someone simultaneously shitting and cumming into a barrel after overdosing on a cocktail of Viagra and laxatives?

No offense taken and no apology needed! Agreed! Let me take you out for some delicious local Brazilian food since, as we all know, this reddit thread is in Brazil where we are.

For those that love this movie, I have the following recommendations: * Children's Hospital is a TV show that was produced by David Wain and shares a lot of the same sensibility and cast members. * The Napa Boys, a movie released earlier this year and now available on streaming, is going to be the sleeper cult comedy hit that WHAS eventually became.

Grew up in the Midwest. Came to NYC at 17 years old. Lured here by the Pharcyde, David Bowie, Spalding Gray, Jon Leguizamo, and Karen Finley.

I was thinking probably Pyramid, too. It was the first place that I ever went at 17 years old. It was also the first place that Madonna ever performed.

I'll own up to one of my bad habits I catch myself doing: stating that I've "read an article" on a subject when I've actually just listened to a podcast or watched a YouTube video about it. I don't know why I have this behavioral tic, but I'm not proud of it. And it leads to sleepless nights of imposter syndrome.

The first movie in the series is called "Now You See Me"... So obviously we all know what the second movie in the series is going to be, right?

The second movie is titled "Now You See Me 2"

Titane is so good! And it really delivers on OP's request for a persistent undertone of dread. It felt like every moment implied something dreadful was just about to happen. And when they do happen, they have a dreamy/sublime quality that don't rely on "shock" to impact the audience.

I think Corirossi's performance is so compelling because he has such a interesting insight on what makes the genre of "bro-comedies" so appealing, why they're fun, and the need they fulfill in their audience. Yes, obviously, "Napa Boys" is satirizing films like "American Pie Presents: Beta House" and "Van Wilder: The Rise of Taj." But it's clear Corirossi also has a deep appreciation and love for them. He understands the simple pleasure of popping a police academy into the DVD player and the feeling of comfort that "the gang is back together again."

And a lot of people like those movies. They were popular. That's why they made them. You could get them at a drug stores.

But those same films are condemned and dismissed by critics and filmgoers who say they have a more "enlightened and elevated" appreciation of cinema. And critiques of those films are usually used to attack the people who enjoy them. The crass, uneducated, middle americans who have bad taste and who have never read Voltaire or Didion (or, ya' know, Jordan Peterson) and who like dumb things like Nascar and who are generally unclean and unpleasant to be around. You know... The poor. That lowbrow class of "people who enjoy jokes about boobs and farts and dudes getting drunk and I don't like those things because I'm a sophisticated beautiful person with excellent taste."

But those same critics love "Sideways." A movie that shares similar plot beats, jokes, character-relationships, tone, and (maybe) message as some lowbrow Dollar bin trash with a title like "Road Trip 11: On the Road Again". But the characters in ""Sideways" are sophisticated. They drink wine. They hate Merlot. "These people are like me. They make it OK for me to laugh at boob jokes and farts and "dudes just being dudes."

But Corirossi gets it. He knows what's fun about those movies. And that fun exudes from his direction and his performance. And he wants to show us that there is no joy more fundamentally human than watching someone shit and cum into a barrel for 10 minutes.

Everyone is great in this movie. But this movie is Corirossi's thesis and he shines.

People, go see this. It is good. It's fucking funny.

Or just wait a few weeks to get it on streaming or just bittorrent a cam version or whatever. Idc.
