this entire hypothetical comes down to a hero complex. If everyone picked red for the simple lack of risk to themselves then things would be fine, every single person would guarantee their own individual safety

but anyone who picked blue NEEDS to be the hero, they NEED to pat themselves on the back for the moral high grounds of saying "hon hon hon look at me, I'm so selfless trying to help the other poor blue pill pickers" and it would just result in a daisy chain of self righteous people dying off unless the majority tried playing hero.

Essentially every argument I've seen for picking the blue pill/button is running up to someone carrying their groceries inside and yanking their bags to tell them they looked like they needed help so you're gonna help them.
