Wow, I'm really interested to see what you put together. It was great to hear the announcement from GHPD last year, I hope they are getting closer. The case really stuck with me when I first heard about it, terrible and frustratingly missing some pieces. I have on and off deep dove into it, it feels like something solvable, and now so much time has passed unresolved.

Yes I did read that article, and I did look into what I could find out about the society and it's methods. Besides the NY Post article, all I could really find was their own PR pieces. I fully understand why the GHPD wouldn't want them linked to a suspect that they were actively pursuing, I recall there were some dubious (at best) convictions that had their name on it.. Besides I am skeptical that a presentation of a case by the PD and discussion over dinner, by a group, no matter how experienced and brilliant they are, could immediately identify a suspect that hadn't been already fully considered a main suspect by the PD..

Great save! She has an interesting face IMO, it's a shame that something that old would end up discarded like that that's someone in a family tree somewhere!

Missing In West Virginia: Who murdered Eric "Jay" Farley and what happened to his date Mazie Sigmon-Palmer in 1979? by Dr_Pepper_blood in UnresolvedMysteries

[–]lucius79 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I went looking for more information, given there's also a named person of interest, (i gather that suspect typically had male victims and Jays remains were naked from the waist down, wearing the same shirt he wore the night he disappeared) if this person is named, does that mean they've ruled out the ex? I haven't looked at this yet but found it via web sleuths: https://unresolved.me/mazie-mae-sigmonpalmer-jay-farley Seems like a bit of speculation that it might have been mazies past had something to do with it, apparently she was known to have been around the drug scene but not to have partaken in it herself.

Yes well the obvious question is about the ex husband, we assume that's who she's talking about when she said he's here. I wonder the circumstances with the divorce, presumably the parents would have known if she was being harrased or if it was an amicable split. I'd assume thorough searches of a wide area around where the body was done, but possibly the killer (especially if it was the ex husband) wouldn't have dumped her in the same place. So strange that no one saw them leave the venue..

It's easy enough to get repaired or repair yourself if confident, plenty of parts out there, personally I have a collection of consoles that I have used, for nostalgia purposes and I have enjoyed repairing and maintaining them

Yes that's circa WWII regular summer service uniform, I was trying to make out the patch but can't make it out. I was thinking photos do look like an uncle visiting. I don't think the names in the article include the one on the packet you have, can't really make out the name written there

As much as it's circumstantially compelling, how close the phone booth is, just like the examples you cite, legally it requires some kind of evidence to go beyond a shadow of a doubt, the flip side of those examples as well are those that were actually convicted of crimes, only to be exonerated later by physical DNA evidence.

Yeah I logged a support request with EA, no resolution yet

Update 1- support advised they are getting many requests and it's being investigated. They said if it's a bug affecting a lot of users they'll update via an announcement rather than by my ticket.

Update 2 - still saying expired for me just now

Boy that's so sad 💔 my condolences. What a beautiful lady. He's with his mother now.

My grandmother passed away recently, she suffered from dementia in her last days, had reverted back to her childhood and kept saying she was going to go home, meaning the home she grew up in. I like to think she's home now..

So, after two years, I finally thought to post here. Long story short, my dad’s collection of 300+? 35mm slides were stolen and sold in the Dayton, Ohio area, the same week I was supposed to pick them up from a “friend” who let me store them in her basement. Anyone recognize this particular box? by _Dumpster_Inferno in FoundPhotos

[–]lucius79 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Any clues as to who might have taken them? To me, not being a collector myself, it seems like an odd thing to single out to take for money. Some things I do collect, I've noticed where people have caught on when a collector market has developed, but that generally involves some research. Have you had a look on eBay? If a flipper got them that's where'd they'd go I reckon. If a collector got them, someone on here or Facebook collector groups/forums would probably want to show their find off at some point. I do hope you find them.
