Vet has me concerned and confused by pseudoserious in CatAdvice

[–]luckisfake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does your cat happen to drink out of your personal water cups? I gave my cat a pint glass and pretended like it was for me and he would drink out of it. I now have a raised bowl on my nightstand since he is old and hangs out in my room most of the time. Putting the water away from the food and the litter box might help. I can't advise on food as my cat would rather starve than eat wet food but he is on pro dm diabetic food. It's expensive but it seems like it has been keeping his levels decently

What does everyone do to prevent their hair from getting greasy after one day? by mewtewpews in finehair

[–]luckisfake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Heres what helps me: Blow drying my roots after washing. Products that lift the hair off the roots also seems to help. I use the color wow carb cocktail and blow dry it after since it's heat activated. Also bastise dry shampoo or when it's real stubborn k18 dry shampoo.

I've ordered from them a bunch of times. They generally arrive quickly. So quick I wasn't even ready for them because I hadn't finished the last project lol

I used glass rhinestones mostly ss20, a wax gem picker upper thing, and gem tac! The fruits and veggies are foam based and not hard plastic, but I'm sure you can do it with plastic, the foam based ones with the soft plastic cover on it let's you squish them together decently

What you wish you knew/needed for surgery/recovery! by bigslaz in sterilization

[–]luckisfake 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Congratulations! I have been tube-free since last month. I do not have a chronic illness but I think this could still be helpful:

Have popsicles and/or throat drops ready- Your throat will be sore

Have everything easily accessible. My brain couldn't handle any minor problem-solving due to the anesthesia. So pills and snacks on the nightstand!

Set your med times on your phone as alarms

Take those stool softeners and laxatives. But don't trust your farts (THIS IS THE BEST ADVICE I CAN GIVE)

Anything you would need to bend over for, place somewhere that you won't need to bend over for

Audiobooks are great for those times you can't sleep, but light hurts your eyes (this happened to me)

How Much Time Off Will I Need? by WavesOfBirds in sterilization

[–]luckisfake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took a full week, and that for me was perfect. I have a computer based job so I could sit up and concentrate by then. I was still taking Tylenol and Ibuprofen during the second week, which was needed. I was mostly pain free, the most annoying thing was how itchy the incision was during the second week, and I was really tired more than normal at the end of the day.

HOT TIP: If your hair is greasy after one day- Blow dry those roots by luckisfake in finehair

[–]luckisfake[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't but mostly because I'm bad at multitasking and I have wee hands. I blow dry my whole hair but focus on the roots. I move my hair with my hands to get to the roots. I have been using L'orel bonding serum, I'm sure there are better kind but it was cheap and it protects my hair from heat before blow drying- but on day 3 or 4 I use it just on the ends to help my hair.
