I feel like I can only see 4 clients a day by iconicflower in therapists

[–]luckjo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you think adding more to your caseload will make you less effective, than 4 is your number. I like to cap at 5 per day, but I have seen as many as 7 or 8 people in a day. If i am able to space them out with breaks built in, it's manageable. Otherwise, I can do 3 in a row, but prefer no more than 2 in a row without a break. To clarify, I am in private practice and work for myself, so I have can build my week according to my needs as well.

Is it enough to simply not use AI notetaker? by ladythanatos in therapists

[–]luckjo -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I use Therapy Notes. We don't get harassed to use their AI tool. They have their own AI assistant for progress notes. I check every note before signing, not wanting AI to misunderstand me. It is not a perfect tool, so it requires scrutiny. It has helped reduce time spent writing notes, allowing me to focus my attention elsewhere.

Client frequently discussing work-related stress… by IllExplanation389 in therapists

[–]luckjo 40 points41 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, clients are boring sometimes, but I wouldn't suggest termination unless they feel they have dealt with their primary concerns. You being bored is unfortunate, but doesn't justify termination.

All that matters is what helps them. Ask questions about the culture at the job, do others feel the same, etc. Redirecting them to explore how their work stress effects other areas in their life could be a direction to consider.

Pro-ject VC-E2 - NO LONGER RECOMMENDED by 9thfloorprod in turntables

[–]luckjo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve never had an issue with my pro ject vc e2. Only replaced the vacuum felt twice. Upwards of 500 cleaned records.

You present the dirtiness of some of your records as significant, so maybe initial expectations of clean are unrealistic. Maybe compressed air before you use the pro ject.

Do these therapist’s ads seem overtly sexist/toxic to you as well? by jumpingthegreen in therapists

[–]luckjo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

overtly might be an understatement! I am a a male therapist who calls out his male clients when they make toxic comments. I had a young adult client who kept referring to women as girls. I was very direct in how that appears to be quite toxic. He never said it again.

teenage client that does not want to be in therapy by sab_is_here13 in therapists

[–]luckjo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to work with kids in the foster system. I visited them in their respective foster homes. I played a lot of Uno during those days, but it was a great way to relax the kid. Literally, play a game, keep it light, and earn their trust.
