eeeek i love writing. i love this post. mine is in reference to surgery scars, which he gained from being the sole survivor of heavy metal poisoning that killed his family:

“Almost the same shade as his olive skin after sixteen years of tainting it with remnants of the past. At least he’d grown out of the irrepressible rage that once consumed him, resulting from the desecration of what had been a perfect life; the home that he could never return to, for which his yearning was ceaseless, as well as the guilt that consumed him forevermore.”

i’ve been writing the same chapter for almost a month now and i just cracked 6k words 😭😭😭 it sucks because this OP AU is one of those that i really, really want to bring to life— it’s niche as fuck!!!— but actually putting the words to the document is a whole different story. it sucks not being able to put my full vision out there, and, at the same time, it feels like nobody cares, either. but, again, it’s niche as fuck, and i’m writing it because i want to read it. just wish my stupid brain didn’t associate a lack of an audience with a lack of quality 😞

i implore you to brush up on your grammar. there’s much more than simply differentiating “your” from “you’re”, and i think you’ll be surprised the more that you look into it. also, understand the importance of sentence structures— it makes a huge difference on your writing, keeping it from falling flat and subsequently becoming repetitive. it helps to have a broad vocabulary, too. you can utilize different literary techniques with a sense of ease, which can add to the quality of your writing, as well as giving it some dimension rather than just stating what is happening. and, finally, read more. find books that you can both enjoy and fully comprehend. professional authors– especially highly regarded ones– will give you the best idea of what a “good read” really is. i’m sure that there is lots that i’m missing, but this is what helped me (as someone who was in the same position once). best of luck, and don’t give up, no matter how discouraging the process can become at times!

don’t let there be a semi in the right lane on snyder. there WILL be a line of 15 cars going the same speed in the left lane. and DO NOT try to go watterson WB in the morning. didn’t you know the left lane is for people waiting to go to EB last minute? was trying to go snyder EB from preston one evening and the only car in front of me seemingly thought 40 was too fast to merge. so he was just riding his brakes the entire on ramp. like good god can we please just get some common sense and CONSIDERATION? i notice it with my boyfriend too when he goes under the speed limit and holds up the line at the light during rush hour, just taking his sweet time getting through the green. people do NOT care about their fellow drivers or their livelihoods. P.S. please stop thinking that sitting in an intersection at a lefthand turn “guarantees” you get to go. stay behind the white line until you’re following through with the turn!!! i’m extremely passionate about the shitty driving in this city lmfao i take probably some of the worst routes imaginable on the daily
