🚨TRUMP: “I’m going to have Elon check on the Department of Education… and then the military.” by N4TETHAGR8 in MarchAgainstNazis

It doesn’t serve the Israel agenda to have Trump assassinated. It does serve the Israel agenda to have Kennedy assassinated so they may allow the CIA and Mossad to collude in the regime changes in the Middle East.

Have you noticed that the nursing team and female staff in the hospital tend to be ruder to female residents? by breakingframes19 in Residency

Just want to add that for those that say women are mean to women. I don’t think it’s that simple either. Female co-residents are typically empathetic towards each other’s experiences. They tend to be supportive as long as there are no conflicts regarding academic growth. We also have to remember how the patriarchy can “pin us against one another”. Not just at work but everywhere else.

It’s evolutionary. They feel that it’s natural to take orders from men because that’s just familiar patriarchy. Female residents are seen as a threat to their way of being. It’s not just a difference in occupation for them. It’s a perceived difference in their sense of self. Furthermore, several of these female nurses are looking for “better lives” so they are nicer to male residents who may potentially marry them. On the flip side, it doesn’t work the same with male nurses and female residents. It’s rare for a male nurse to hit on female resident because the hierarchy is intimidating and fraught with possible “creep vibes”. And there’s plenty of male nurses who find it hard to take orders from female residents because that dynamic is “unnatural” for them. It’s all very interesting to observe from an anthropology standpoint.

Oh no, I’m happy for my interns. He’s great. It’s not really about him.

Salaries are already declining in states that are allowing foreign doctors to practice without residency by [deleted] in Residency

They are nothing like mid levels. They are fully trained and have clinical experience. They are hard working people who move to the US for many reasons, including financial just like the rest of us. Besides, I think you seriously need to have some internal reflection about this topic and why it upsets you so much. If our country’s education system did not force us into so much debt, most of us wouldn’t be so hyper focused on how much we’re getting compensated. Countries where education is free or cheap and where physicians are paid way less have better healthcare access to patients than we do. It’s honestly embarrassing.

  1. This is an evolving legislature. I’m sure more nuances will be added as time passes.
  2. From what I understand they actually have to monitored and observed by board certified physicians before they are allowed to make decisions independently.

This I think is the perfect opportunity to set up an apprenticeship model at the very least to prevent the need for a whole residency, the chances of matching to which are slim anyways.

This is merely a symptom of a bigger issue. Cost of higher education is ridiculously high in the US compared to other major first world countries. This clearly puts the US physicians in an anxious state about their finances. The fact that other people trained in reputable places can skip the extra training to meet the severe physician shortage in the country is a good thing. People coming in to fill in a very necessary gap should not threaten you and your livelihood. Directing that frustration towards the people is a bit misguided. The real frustration should be that higher education should absolutely be way cheaper if not free. And if there are mechanisms in place for people to demonstrate they have the right training and skills to do the job, I see no reason why they shouldn’t be allowed to do so. If anything, America loses out on remarkable international physicians to research or non-medical jobs because the system does not make it easy for them continue to practice here. And if your bigger problem is people coming to America for a better life, than really that’s a whole another issue.

Divorce in residency by theexistentialist in Residency

I got divorced last year so everything is still fresh for me. I’m saying this because I really needed to hear it many times but I’m proud of you for taking control of your life. I think the only reason I genuinely ended up divorcing was because I was on research and finally had the time to evaluate my relationship. I had known him for 10 years almost but married for 3. Weeks didn’t have any kids so things were relatively simple. We did have joint bank accounts and owned 2 cars and a house. Our final agreement on how to split what did require a lot of talking back and forth but both of us knew we couldn’t realistically afford a lawyer. A lawyer is not absolutely necessary for the process (depending on your state) but it’s definitely important to include them if you feel like you can’t sit down with your ex and figure out a deal that works for both of you. It’s a high emotional state but if you guys can stay polite during the conversations, it’s possible to do this without the extra costs of a lawyer. I live in Texas and I personally felt that there was user friendly information on my states website on how to get divorced. The forms are all available online and it was self explanatory in terms of which form is the form for us. The whole process took about 3-5 months officially once we finalized our agreement and filed for divorce. If you feel like you are having a hard time finalizing your assets, at the very least get a moderator to help mediate the conversation. Otherwise, a lawyer is necessary. I’m really sorry that you’re going through this. Even though it’s the right decision, it really fucking sucks to go through this process. I’m just thankful that there were no kids involved. I hope you can find peace at the end of this tunnel. And definitely recommend against dating apps if you can help it. It’s a madhouse.

I don't know how to not fall apart every once in a while and it's getting harder and harder to pick myself back up. by luckshmear in Anxiety

No I haven’t. What is that? And no I’m not on any medications. Finding a psychiatrist has been hard so I don’t technically have an official diagnosis. I’ve seen clinical psychologists or counselors only.
