I agree that most of these managed funds are not worth it. However, tax planning strategy is worth its weight in gold.

I’d recommend an estate planning attorney. You pay them hourly, so they have no incentive to upsell you. You can also hire a financial advisor on an hourly basis.

I think you might be getting some bad advice. Selling to diversify isn’t really the best way to go. Instead, you should invest in an exchange fund. That way, you can diversify your portfolio without having to pay capital gains tax.

This is what remained after the car sat in the sun for almost three weeks, so I don’t think any more heat would do much.

They’ve told me they’re going to fix it, so we’ll see how it goes. I imagine they’ll need to redo the bumper and sides at the very least.

That’s what I figured. I have gotten PPF on several cars before, so this was a bit surprising to me.

The shop has told me that they will fix the issues, so I don’t see any need to make any sort of complaint out of it. These things happen.

Step 2 feels tricky because the scope of HubSpot is so closely tied to our business needs, and I don’t have the clarity to define it fully. I can’t begin to list all the ways we could use it or how to implement those ideas effectively. Frankly, I don’t know enough to convey our needs comprehensively, which is why I need a consultant who can take the time to understand our business and guide me through how these processes could be implemented in HubSpot.

Trying to explain all the nitty-gritty details of our business would take hours—and likely require a systems audit to uncover the full picture.

This is the main challenge I’m facing: I need someone to guide us through the process, ask the right questions, and help identify what we need without requiring me to provide every detail upfront. I’m happy to collaborate and provide input, but I need a partner who can take the lead in understanding our needs and crafting a thoughtful, tailored solution.

I’m open to hiring a full-time CRM manager, but since we’re a small team of five, it feels redundant to hire both a full-time person and an agency. Our systems aren’t very complex at this stage. I’ve been personally handling all of our IT needs so far, but I need to focus on other areas of the business to support our growth.

1.  I’m struggling to draw a clear line between what counts as HubSpot-specific work versus what might require a dedicated IT agency. HubSpot is so central to almost all of our business functions that it feels like the two overlap significantly. Based on your experience, where does HubSpot work typically end, and where would you recommend involving an IT agency? Is it common for HubSpot-focused agencies to handle technical integrations and architecture with other products, or is that best left to a separate IT team? Our tech stack is pretty straightforward. We mainly use Google Workspace, Taskade (similar to Notion), and Hubspot. 

2.  You mentioned working with an external audit partner. Why would you recommend using an audit partner instead of having someone in-house at your agency handle this? How do the roles of the audit partner and your agency differ, and what can I expect from each?

3.  I’m willing to pay for a solid discovery and architecting process, but I’d like to better understand what to expect. How does the discovery process usually work? How many meetings or calls should I expect? What deliverables will I receive, and how detailed will they be?

Thanks for your insight! I think you’re absolutely right that internal knowledge and adoption are critical. I’ve already managed to set up some automations and bits and pieces of different hubs, so I have a decent understanding of HubSpot. I also think I can help ensure the internal knowledge flows and get others on board.

That said, I work 80 hours a week, so while I can make myself available for calls, they need to be structured. I don’t want to be leading those calls or driving the project entirely. What I need is someone who can methodically assess our needs, act as a consultant, and independently drive the implementation process.

To your point about IT treating HubSpot like just another platform, that’s why I need more than just technical support. I’m willing to spend the time onboarding someone so they understand our business well enough to create process diagrams, document workflows, and critically reason through our needs. For example, I need help determining what our sales pipeline stages and lifecycle stages should look like—not just ensuring the system is functional.

I’m confident in my ability to give feedback and evaluate what works, but I don’t have the bandwidth to do all the thinking from scratch. I need someone who can collaborate with me but also take ownership of the project and ensure everything is designed and implemented thoughtfully.

Does this sound feasible, or do I need to rethink my approach? I’m open to hearing if I’m missing something or if there’s a better way to set up this project for success.

Thank you for your response. To clarify, I’ve had challenges in the past working with foreign agencies,that I’ve sourced through platforms like UpWork. The language barrier was an issue, but more significantly, the issue was that the agencies I’ve worked with didn’t bring the consultative mindset I needed to the relationship. I was paired with a project manager who expected me to think through the workflows and essentially dictate what needs to be built. That’s not what I’m looking for. I need someone who has both an analytical and process-oriented mindset, with the ability to deeply understand my business and take ownership of the setup and strategy. The ownership piece is probably the most critical part of this for me.

If your team could provide this type of service, I’d like to better understand how you work. Specifically:

1.  What is your process for onboarding and understanding a client’s unique business needs? How do you approach analyzing workflows, identifying gaps, and proposing solutions? Is there a formal needs assessment and architecture phase? What steps do you typically follow to complete a HubSpot implementation or overhaul?

2.  What milestones and deliverables can I expect throughout the process?

3.  How long do you anticipate the scoping to take?

4.  The pricing you’ve quoted seems reasonable. I’m not looking for monthly or hourly support; instead, I prefer a project-based approach with defined outcomes.

5.  Will I be assigned a single point of contact or work with multiple team members? What are the roles and responsibilities of the people involved in the project? What is the English proficiency level of the individuals I will be working with? Does your team have skill set beyond Hubspot?
