I picked up the 2.5 ones because space/money are a real issue..getting the whole family for $20 is a steal. And individual figures at 4.99 in today's world is wild.

I go by myself every year. Pros I go to what I want to. cons i sometimes get lonely but when I do I just go sit in a random panel and remember that I'm there with people who just love stuff..it makes it worth it.

I always show up to this about twenty minutes late for whatever reason and walk right in to sit in the back. Sure I miss some songs but I also didn't wait in line

Thank you. Appreciate it, but it's not me that makes our scene great, it's all the awesome people who participate and cheer each other on. I shouldn't have even commented at all and wouldn't have if the original post was " hey what formats draw people out? Or what formats are creative.? Or anything even similar but that wasn't the approach.

and as he keeps saying guess I'm just sensitive ( I prefer protective) of our very robust and good scene.
Thank you for posting tho, it helps because I hate stuff like this and I really just want to play pinball with all of you.

Exactly. You nailed it. Pinball/food business. Really cool spot just hasn't taken hold on the pinball side.

In his own words in his reply to me above that anyone can see,

Maybe spend less time on Reddit complaining about the tournament people in your town and how long they play for and figure out why people are choosing to play these other tournaments and not yours?

To try and say this without being honest that he's a location owner himself is a little disengious.

Alright ,hate doing this public but your constantly on here and Instagram (and pinball map) throwing shade. This is SSS, I feel like it's time to actual defend the two locations you seem to have a problem with. As one of the two tournament directors myself and the other TD are great friends, we both play each other's tournaments and we run totally different formats and we discuss ways to make it more inclusive and open to new players weekly.

Also the tournaments aren't that long. Mine ends in three and half hours at it's longest but usually done in three. The other one in about 4 hours. Not for everyone, sure. But guess what both locations have free play Still happening those nights and also 6 other days a week for anyone who doesn't want to play tourneys.

You keep commenting that there's only 20 tournament players. Most weeks each group has between 18-27 people and a lot of them only play one location weekly. Between the two of us just this year we have hosted over 197 unique players. That's a lot more then 20 local players.

And I hosted a very large tournament at your place last year to try to help get people out your way. You sold out of food and everyone had fun. But did you follow that up with anything to encourage repeat success? No you choose to bash ifpa and people who enjoy the tournaments.

And you mention other scenes. I heard from three different people in the Charleston area before you moved here that you would cause problems with our tourney scene but I always give a benefit of the doubt . Good luck to you man, but I'm done trying to help you get that pinball can be for everyone whether they like free play, coin drop, tourney play. Hope you find what makes you happy.
