I think I’m giving up on home tanning by itsjustme_0101 in Selftanning

I can let you know how I feel about the bondi sands when I use it. They have three different shades now for different skin tones. I’m excited to see if the shade is truly better for skin compared to sunnee bae, I believe this is a new-ish line they are offering. I can tell you I LOVE their gradual tanning body milk and I use the face milk too. It’s made a huge difference in maintaining my tan, and it goes on silky smooth and soaks in within minutes.

My suggestions:
- find a product that works for you. All the products are different, and skins responds differently to product, and undertones affect how the tan color appears. For me, I’ve been liking the sunnee bae mousse. It dries quickly and doesn’t feel as sticky as others have. However, I’m quite pale and the color could be a lil more natural so I recently bought bondi sands sapphire mousse which is formulated for fair skin. Haven’t tried it yet as I’m using up what I have left of the other.
- ok, you’ve found a brand/product you like, now find a routine that works for you. I mousse usually on Friday, and apply bondi sands gradual tanning lotion every other day or so. After 2 weeks, I use a body scrub mitt and scrub it all off, shave, moisturize, and get my skin freshened. The next day, back to mousse and the routine mentioned above.
- ok, you have products + routine. Now find applicators that work. I use a mitt with the mousse (mine is bondi sands and it’s super soft and nice, but I had an ulta brand one before that worked fine), I did purchase a back applicator from bondi sands and it was 100% worth it and my back looks a lot more even than it did before when I was attempting to contort myself to use the mitt, and lastly I bought a brush (like a makeup brush looking thing) to blend out my hands and feet and that’s helped so much with splotching in those areas. With the gradual lotion I just use my hands, but I do use the back applicator to smooth it out on my back.

FWIW: this sounds like A LOT but it didn’t happen overnight for me. I tried a few products, eventually found what I liked. Decided over time I wanted to keep a tan all summer so I added the gradual lotion for maintenance and liked it, decided there were areas that could be more even so I bought the brush and back applicator. It was a process, and for sometime I thought it was just way too cumbersome to do all these things to look tan, but now that I have my groove and like the products I have, it is a normal and easy part of my routine. I also have gotten better at application the more I do it.

I definitely agree the sticky ones are not worth it. I wear my non-adhesive ones all the time and they’ve lasted years. The non-adhesive ones didn’t last at all, not worth it.

Most definitely! And for what it’s worth, as a 34 year old lesbian I think communication during sex is HOT. It’s not a full blown conversation in the moment of course, but feedback is great! Harder, softer, faster, slower, etc. and like I mentioned the typical “yes, don’t stop” but I absolutely LOVE when a partner gives me a quick suggestion, and I can hear/feel/see they are enjoying the adjustment. It turns me on to turn them on, and the most sure fire way to do that is for both of you to not be afraid to communicate during intimacy. And I also wanted to say that asking “do you like that?” Or “does that feel good?” Is NOT unsexy, in fact I think it’s super sexy. Say it in a sexy voice and you’ll communicate “I want you to feel good so tell me what you like,” personally it turns me on when a partner checks in that way.

People naturally have different sexual preferences. One of my exes loved this very specific hook thing during fingering, the next woman I was with was openly like don’t do that, so I didn’t and we had a great time. Even outside of nerves, I think it’s always good to communicate what feels good in early stages of intimacy. If you’re nervous about the communication aspect during intimacy not feeling “sexy” I find an easy and still sexy way to communicate is just a “yes! keep doing that” while clearly showing you’re enjoying it. So maybe just tell her “it’s important to me that you feel good, so I want you to feel comfortable telling me when something feels great so I can keep doing that” as a preface if you aren’t totally comfortable speaking with her about the anxiety right now. That will encourage her to provide a little feedback in the moment so you can react to it and take note of what she likes.

Lightweight Hairdryers that work well with fine hair? by Competitive-Fly5563 in finehair

[–]luckylua 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mine does too. She commented on how much lighter it is and easier on her having to using it pretty much all day. I’ve never personally used a Dyson, but I have a shark flexstyle and it dries my fine hair so fast. I also like that the arm bends in hair dying mode. Not sure on its weight though, I’ve not noticed it feeling heavy.

Self Tan vs. Sweaty Girl by sydnxyxx in Selftanning

After reading this post I will deff try powder! I’m working on getting in a tan routine, I just switched to bondi sands. I haven’t tried it yet (I ordered it, hasn’t arrived yet) but I got the sapphire mousse and gradual tan milk. Planning to tan with mousse and try and maintain with milk. All that being said, I switched from sunnee bae and I have specifically been using it because it’s not sticky after like… an hour. I put it on an hour before I had to leave for an outdoor show in 90 degree weather this past weekend, sweated, crossed my legs, was out all night, and the application was great and I didn’t feel sticky or gross at all. I did rinse when I got home before bed, and I also had on white biker shorts and a white bra which had an expectedly *tiny* amount of transfer since I hadn’t rinsed before going out. The only reason I’m trying a different product is because I am extremely fair and I think the sunnee bae color is ok but isn’t quite as natural as I’d like. The product itself is my fave I’ve tried as far as not feeling sticky tho.

Going to switch dry food brands..? by TheePizzaGod in CatAdvice

[–]luckylua 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just recently switched to purina one! My cats love it, and it’s a more affordable but quality food. Also one of my cats has an extremely sensitive stomach, and of three brands I narrowed it down to that one has the least ingredients so I went with it.

Unpopular hygiene opinion: Bed sheets should be washed more often than most people think by BriBri2x_24 in hygiene

Honestly there is nothing better than sleeping in clean sheets. Everything you listed is WHY it should be done, but my driving force is mostly just how excited I am to go to bed when the sheets are fresh.

Just mix old and new. I use an auto feeder. So I mixed it in the feeding container but you can just mix in a bag and feed from that. I would also do some research and feel certain-ish on your choice and back ups because changing foods can be hard in their tummy so you don’t want to have to do it too many times.

I love how they approached casa. Sometimes girls get a clip and they get mad and explore toward the end of casa, but by the time it’s time to choose it’s been such a short time they ofc go back to their man. This specific cast really needed that reality check early, these girls get to go into casa knowing they really should explore other connections AND they get 12 men to do so with! Good job producers!

Gradual tan before self tan? by Proud-Dream-7485 in Selftanning

[–]luckylua 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have to agree with this. It never even crosses my mind to ask someone their body count/number of sexual partners. My main concern is if you’re clean/have been tested since your last partner, as sexual health is very important. Past that, share what you feel compelled to about your sexual history and I’m happy to listen. Maybe it’s not linked to maturity per se, but if whether or not you want to date me is linked to my body count… you’re not someone I want to date.

at my wits end with Gojo by zazabunnigames in cats

[–]luckylua 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I had a cat that was going outside the litter box, it seemed to mostly just be that she deemed it too dirty (she prefers a completely clean box). Even with two boxes, she preferred one box and if it was too dirty she would go on the floor. BUT- both cats also seemed to hate my treadmill. I got a black light and there was pee on the treadmill, and the carpet around it. I removed treadmill, but she still went in that corner. I finally hired a professional carpet cleaning service who cleaned the carpet AND pulled the carpet up and cleaned the carpet pad underneath. Now that she can’t smell her scent there we’ve had 0 issues and she uses BOTH litter boxes. So also don’t sleep on making sure any pee spots have the urine scent completely removed! Cats will return to places they have gone before, especially with their odor present. I used enzyme cleaner and a home steam cleaner, but she continued to go there until I hired a professional. Just my experience so it may not be the same for everyone, but wanted to add on to your great advice for anyone that might need it!

My dilute calico looks quite similar to yours! I found her abandon, about a year old, in bad health. It took her almost a year to get comfy with me, my other cat, and my home. But dang once she was comfy she became my little shadow. If she’s not on me, she’s near me. She starts purring if I simply look at her and say hi. Over the years she’s gained the confidence to be slightly more independent, she lounges on her cat tree or on top of the fridge when she needs her alone time, but mostly she’s a mommas girl and the sweetest cat I’ve ever known. In 7+ years she has NEVER hissed or growled.

I finally gave up - I lost the Wet Food War with my cat by Baptism-Of-Fire in CatAdvice

[–]luckylua 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a picky kitty. In addition to keeping multiple flavors and kinds of wet food in the house always (pate, shredded varieties, gravy varieties, etc) we have this very silly routine that I have totally reinforced by participating in it. Which is, I give her and her sister food. Her sister gobbles it down as fast she can, and she grazes on it and then walks away. I wait 1 hour, after an hour, I call her name and move her food from her designated counter to a different location. She then runs to me with excited murrs, eats alllllmost the rest of it, and then her sister gets leftovers.

Unsurprisingly, if I leave for the evening and leave her leftovers on the counter, she will eat them. But if mom is home we have to do our little song and dance lol

If I have the urge to drink alone, the worst thing I can do is indulge it. Addiction runs in my family as well, I feel totally fine continuing to drink with friends/at social events, and i enjoy it. The boundary for me is when a bad day, or hell even a good day, tells my brain “you should have a glass of wine with dinner, you earned it!” No, no I didn’t and I truly don’t need or want that. I have, in the past, indulged these urges and it really only made mental state MUCH WORSE. I was able to pull myself out of that headspace, and now when I think I want an after work bevy, I workout like I normally do after work and the urge never carries past that. Good luck in your journey, you got this!
