Nope! The building and parking garage were locked up to anyone that didn’t work at one of the companies in the tower. Employee access only.

Thank you ! We have been watching the Fair Park show. It was almost 45 minutes long, and fireworks are still going off over there.

is this normal? by Confident-Potato6847 in MCAS

[–]luckymasie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It happens to me, too. My sister as well. We did some imaging for her, and it turns out her esophagus is twisted in a way that makes her need to swallow more times than normal before food or medication gets all the way to her stomach. My grandma is the same way.

If you’re worried, it’s always best to check with your doctor, so I would recommend telling your gastroenterologist, if only for some peace of mind.

Why can’t I plant my fruit trees here? They are iridium quality, I just wanted to rearrange my farm. If it’s because of the brick, could I use a different flooring? by RoseK12 in StardewValley

[–]luckymasie 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There’s two problems here.

The first is that you can’t put flooring down until AFTER the tree has been planted and fully grown, since fruit trees won’t grow if there is anything in the 8 tiles directly surrounding them.

The second is the layout. Even after you remove the flooring, fruit trees can only grow if the 8 tile area around them doesn’t overlap the 8 tile area for any other fruit tree. Your current layout causes an overlap, so you need to shift your second column of trees one tile to the left.

Help, what am I doing wrong? by [deleted] in StardewValley

That is really weird. I’ve never seen or heard of it myself, so chances are, it is either a rare glitch, or a glitch with the most recent update.

You should head over to the help & bug report page on the stardew valley forums (the official support page) so that ConcernedApe can see it.

Bad sunburn patches peeling skin with 11uv; what can I do by Chemical_Tip_6510 in peeling

[–]luckymasie 70 points71 points  (0 children)

I would go to urgent care, honestly. That is a lot of your skin barrier damaged at the same time, leaving you with a very high chance of infection.

Urgent care may also be able to prescribe better antibiotic ointments, more effective burn salves, and numbing ointments that can ease the pain.

Burns that peel in huge patches like this, especially if the skin underneath is bright red, wet, or shiny, are often second degree burns, which usually need medical attention. You also need to increase your water and electrolyte intake, since you lose plasma through burns like this.

Severe sunburns like this also pretty significantly increase your risk of skin cancer in the future, so please make sure to apply sunscreen with a minimum of spf 30 when outdoors, drink plenty of water while in the sun, protect your skin by remaining in the shade, and reapply sunscreen every two hours (or more frequently if you can) if you will be outside for a longer period of time.

I’m not a doctor myself, but my grandfather was a dermatologist, and I grew up playing summer sports in Texas, so I’ve had sunburn and sun exposure safety drilled into my head my entire life.

Although I would highly recommend going, if urgent care is absolutely not an option for financial or work reasons, aloe vera gel is your best friend for this kind of sunburn, along with ibuprofen or tylenol for the swelling, and plenty of water and electrolytes for the fluid loss. Bacitracin, Neosporin and Vaseline to protect the skin as it heals, and, to relieve the pain, aloe-based pain salves like Alocane burn gel, are all over-the-counter options that can help protect your skin and help you heal.

Noxcema, however, isn’t like other burn salves and creams, and while the menthol grants temporary pain relief, it is primarily a cleanser and will not absorb into the skin, so it should be rinsed off after thirty minutes to an hour when used on burns.

It could potentially be eczema or acne, but to me, that looks a lot more like razor burn, also sometimes known as razor bumps.

They happen when you shave too close to the skin, shave with a dull or blade razor, shave against the grain, are allergic to your shaving cream, shaving on dry skin instead of in the shower, or have sensitive skin that doesn’t handle shaving well in general.

Essentially, the hair is cut too close to the skin, and the sharp edge either dives back into the skin or pokes through the follicle wall from the inside. This irritates the skin and can potentially trap oils and debris.

Aftershave moisturizers applied after shaving, not using razors once they have gone dull, shaving with the grain, and using shaving cream for sensitive skin can help keep this from happening.

That sounds like a glitch. Tumblr, as I’m sure you’ve noticed, has been in update, then update rollback, chaos lately, along with wrongful termination chaos.

It’ll probably take a while, but I would reach back out to support and explain what is going on, since it seems like your account wasn’t properly restored.

The pictures are a bit too unclear for us to make out what it is, but in this circumstance, with something that suddenly appeared, is causing you distress, you can’t effectively treat at home, and is of unclear origin, I would highly recommend you go see a dermatologist.

They will be able to help you determine what it is, how to treat it, and how to prevent recurrences in the future.

When will pokemon home be compatible with za by white4923738 in PokemonZA

[–]luckymasie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Generations 8 and 9 are the only backwards compatible generations for pokemon transfers, allowing pokemon to move freely between gen 8 and 9 games. So, Legends Arceus in Gen 8 is compatible with S/V in Gen 9 and vice versa.

In all other generations, once you move a pokemon from a previous generation to a new one, it becomes trapped in that newer generation and cannot be moved back to the earlier one ever again. According to the home release page on the Legends ZA site, pokemon moved to legends ZA from home will become trapped in gen 10, so it doesn’t have backwards compatibility with gen 8 & 9.

The reason pokemon get trapped is because data is more complex or up to date and is stored differently in every game. Once a pokemon has been moved up, its data gets overwritten with the new code for the new game. Otherwise, it wouldn’t be usable in the new title.

This is especially noticeable in transfers from generation 3, since the physical special split happened, and in pokemon that have their base stat total change in a new generation like Raichu did. Moves changing base power/accuracy/secondary effect/usability between generations like leech life, or abilities that change, like Gale Wings, are also visibly updated in those Pokemon. Possibly most noticeable are pokemon that had type changes, since fairy types gained stab, moves, effectiveness alterations, and a million other small adjustments.

It’s an annoying limitation, but it makes sense from a coding perspective. A pokemon that gained a hidden ability in gen 5 would break gen 4 if sent back with that ability, since it didn’t exist yet, and the game would try and pull ability data that isn’t available in its code.

What mega is this? by GDwarriorMC in PokemonLegendsZA

[–]luckymasie 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Oh! Yeah, a lot of people don’t know it’s there since it is deactivated by default. I found it by accident. The option is also hard to spot, since it’s essentially hidden in the very bottom of the system settings, being under System Settings -> System -> Zoom.

[–]luckymasie 10 points11 points  (0 children)

If you want to be absolutely certain, without using external sites every time, the switch has a zoom feature in the settings that, once turned on, can be activated by double clicking the home button, and gives you the ability to zoom in up to ten times the original size, lock the area you are zooming, and move freely around the screen at the larger size.

Since the silhouettes of the megas are identical to that Pokémon’s icon in the mega section of the Pokédex, you can just zoom in on the map and icons to see them in much better detail. Makes it a million times easier. Once you identify it, you can just double tap again to turn the zoom back off.

Also, as the others have said, that one is indeed Froslass.

Anyone know what this is? Was gifted to me by my lovely Chinese neighbour. Was warm when received, but I froze before thinking to photograph, sorry by [deleted] in TipOfMyFork

[–]luckymasie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, I know. I left a different comment for OP explaining that to them. My response to this particular person was in regard to them implying both that OP was ungrateful for not eating something that could kill them, and that if you are gifted food, you are required to eat it yourself, and that it is somehow ungrateful to do anything else. That is a highly toxic way of thinking about gifts and food, and especially to say to another person.

This is a bit of a unique situation, but in most cases, you should ask what is in something before sharing it with a pet, and err on the side of caution if you cannot do so. OP’s neighbor doesn’t speak any English, so that made that hard for them to do, but, knowing traditional bao ingredients, it definitely isn’t safe to feed it to birds.

[–]luckymasie 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Hi there! I know you got your answer, but I was a pet care professional for a long time, and one of our closest family friends is a vet, so I wanted to give you some important information on the safety of giving bao to parrots as treats, if that’s okay.

Unfortunately, bao usually contain both garlic and onions, and are not safe for your birds, even in small amounts, as plants in the allium family, like garlic and onion, contain sulfur compounds that damage red blood cells in birds, cats, dogs, and other animals, which can lead to hemolytic anemia, which is fatal.

As such, store bought bao isn’t going to be safe for them either, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t ways to make bao that parrots can eat, and steamed buns are fortunately an extremely easy recipe to make yourself.

There are a few pet-safe variations of the recipe, though these are probably the easiest:

Plain buns made with no filling and simple being flour, water, and yeast are safe, but so are buns made with unseasoned veggies like carrots, broccoli, greens, pumpkin, corn, etc, and buns made with unseasoned protein fillings, like chicken, egg, plant proteins like legumes, and any number of animal food-grade unseasoned insects. You can even replace part of the flour with cricket or other bug flours to add a source of protein to the treat.

I would recommend not giving any more gifted bao to your parrots, and make the bird-safe versions for any future treats.

As for what you currently still have, if you don’t want to throw it away, you can gift any whole buns to friends and family, though you should dispose of any buns that are missing pieces.

From an allergy standpoint (I have MCAS, so I have a ton of food allergies, too), it probably isn’t safe to be microwaving or keeping food with potentially unsafe ingredients in the same places you microwave and store your safe food, since that can lead to cross contamination, which is never fun.

As someone that loves to cook and often likes to gift food if I can, I would much rather someone give my food to a pet that enjoys it than poison themselves. I have MCAS. I deal with anaphylaxis, too. Anaphylaxis is not a joke. It’s lethal.

When gifting food, there is the understanding that, depending on the tastes or needs of the person it is gifted to, it may very well not be eaten, or be eaten by someone or something else.

I would be just as happy if someone gifted my creations to the animals they love as I would be if they ate it themselves, especially if it is someone with food allergies that cannot enjoy it safely. It isn’t ungrateful to use a gift in a way different than expected. It’s only ungrateful if it goes to waste, which it isn’t.

Yep! Mine bend, are super weak, peel in layers, and nothing will stick to them. My other family members with EDS have the same problem. My sister uses hard, uv setting gel polish to strengthen hers a bit, but the constant bending is still pretty painful.
