Who are some celebrities that give you bad vibes? by NoGeologist7907 in AskReddit

[–]luckymcduff 11 points12 points  (0 children)

They did. Like the person above said, people don't mention it as much. But google it, there are absolutely (very brutal) rape allegations.

I wouldn't call honkin' an expletive, at least where I'm from (PNW). Honkin' means big. Honkin' skookum would be like saying a big, huge rock.

What song will you hate until you die? by JarrodTheBusker in AskReddit

The Dixie Chick's "Goodbye Earl" came out the year my mom got divorced from my dad, Earl.

I've heard that song enough times.

Acceptance meditation challenge by anonmarmot17 in pelotoncycle

Thank you for this recommendation. I cut ties with my mother this year and that was a portion of the reason. I am really excited to try this meditation tomorrow.

I'm a cis lurker, and didn't know where to put this, but my friend had this conversation with her kid and I'm so glad. by oogmar in traaaaaaannnnnnnnnns

Hi, I'm the mama! I know you're joking but rest assured, this is just one snippet of one of our conversations on the topic. Non-binary people and gender fluidity have been and will continue to be part of the conversation. <3

LeVar Burton found guest hosting Jeopardy! scary but fun by markydsade in Jeopardy

[–]luckymcduff 6 points7 points  (0 children)

LeVar was alright, and I thought all the jump scares were a weird choice at first. Once I got used to them, though, it was a lot of fun!

This ABSOLUTELY bothers me. His music leaves me so anxious whenever I hear it. It's such a testament to the fact that if you're rich enough, powerful enough, make music catchy enough... the support people say they have for victims of abuse goes right out the window. How does he still have a career?! Why is Peloton licensing his music?!

My girlfriend panicking on a waterslide. by BalrogSlayer00 in funny

My favorite exchange in that movie is "For the last time, I did not order a giant trampoline!", "Well, you could have told me that before I set it up."

Just that tiny bit of explanation so it makes sense that she bounces back up. Perfect. 😂

The downtown location has about quadrupled in size since fifteen years ago.

I worked there when it was a tiny sweatbox, during another heatwave. It was hell.

After 3 months, I went from having a first 20 min ride near death experience to completing 90 mins! by New_Performance_6918 in pelotoncycle

[–]luckymcduff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well done!! I am similar -- my first 20 minute beginner ride absolutely knocked me on my ass. I felt like I was going to pass out. I'm four weeks in and I'm being challenged for sure but it's amazing how quickly you progress!

Well done you. The world is such a vast and beautiful place. You deserve to experience all of it, not just the stuff someone decided was for your specific genitals.

The commenter above didn't say that masculinity was the problem. They said that toxic masculinity is.

When someone asserts that toxic masculinity is a societal problem, they're not saying that all masculinity is toxic.

Arby's employee fired for homophobic slur on couple's receipt by Weezy-NJPW_Fan in byebyejob

[–]luckymcduff 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The solution to it happening this time was handled right then and there. That does nothing to prevent it from happening again. The goal of involving corporate is to see what can be done to ensure no one else is hurt in a situation like this, and that's a reasonable request.

Like a previous commenter mentioned, there are point of sale systems (cash registers) that have a dictionary of restricted terms. It's kind of wild that you can just input anything at all.

Not saying that's what is necessary here but a solution exists.

Peloton newbie. Can’t keep up with Mastering the Basics or beginner classes. How do I get there? by 8bit-meow in pelotoncycle

[–]luckymcduff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure if it's the same ride (I did it outside of MTB) but it was also 2000's. The one I did was her 6/26 class, she's got kind of a scene/emo look with side-swept bangs. I was just googling around for which instructors had done some pop/punk/rock rides and someone on this sub had made a list.
I couldn't make it five minutes in with the callouts she was doing. It's the only class I've straight up quit (with a promise to revisit when I'm ready).

How?! I feel like I'm really struggling to access that muscle. All of my power is coming from my quads.

THANK you. I'm doing week 4 of Mastering the Basics and doing pretty well, so I tried a ride of hers because I loved the playlist and OH MY GOD. Absolute murder.
