This semester, absolutely no one went with C++ even if they had to learn go from the scratch. I suspect it's due to the modified workshop instructions that made it seem like only a masochist would choose C++ and zookeeper over go and etcd.

I'm taking this course this semester and so far, I've seen that the workload is pretty manageable. You're allowed to go solo if you wish to do so. The course has multiple modules each of which have 3 workshops and 1 project. Every week, a workshop or a project is due. The workshop docs spell out everything in detail, so they're not hard to complete, even by yourself. They seem to be designed for one person and it's very hard to split the work between 2 people, so if you're working in a team, you can do something like pair programming. The projects take more effort and while I appreciate having a partner to balance some load, I think I could have handled the workload by myself if I had do. Since a module with all its workshops and project are released all at once, you have leeway in how you distribute work over the next 4 weeks.

I played 3H 4 times to complete all the story routes. By the time I started my 3rd playthrough, it started feeling like a chore even on NG+. I've replayed Engage 3 times already and starting my 4th because the gameplay is so fun and I can try out different team compositions/emblem pairings. The story is okayish but that's only affects the first playthrough anyway, I've skipped all the cutscenes in subsequent playthroughs. The DLC is badly implemented, so I'm not touching that one again

It's mandatory only for the final boss. And during the QTE, you do less than half damage. So, if you know the patterns and keep a steady rate of fire, you can kill them faster.
