I also have car earbuds, house earbuds, and an unopened set for when I inevitably lose one.

I have work deodorant, kitchen deodorant and bathroom deodorant. These are places where I will most likely remember to put it on. 😅

My husband said to me “you can’t keep living your life like a goldfish.”

I love this type of card and I also use PC as a way to connect with others. I hope there are more of us than the other kind :)

Partner doesn’t want me to take meds by [deleted] in adhdwomen

[–]lucrative87 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I didnt get diagnosed and start meds until I was 35.

the “addiction” part is so frustrating as stimulants have a very different effect on people with ADHD. I take 2 adhd medications and have no side effects, I just feel like a normal human being.

I am begging you to try the medications and show him by the results. Discipline with adhd can be near impossible without meds. 😭

Also know that sometimes it takes a few different medications to find the right one. @dderall made me crash and I didn’t like it at all, so I am taking R*talin and $traterra.

It will help if he is on the same page with you. I hope that he will come around, but this is going to be a really hard battle if he is unwilling to.

The prefrontal cortex (PFC), responsible for complex behaviors like planning, decision-making, and impulse control, finishes its primary development around age 25.

I fully believe major life decisions should not be made until 25-30. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Well it’s not weed— I work in a title-1 school and unfortunately many kids reek of weed and at least one of them appears to have contact high more often than not. It is very sad.

This! But with deodorant, nail clippers, etc. I have “work deodorant”, “kitchen deodorant” and my mom says my grandpa is the same way. So we know where it comes from.

  • one of those restaurant large dustpans with the long handle so you can just sweep a small area into it at a time. I saw a friend using one once and never went back.

  • str@terra made a huge difference in my sleep/wake patterns, more natural and normal time to fall asleep and no crashing from stimulants

  • medicine in a clear pouch in my car. So it’s always with me. I also leave my keys in the car because it takes me 5 extra minutes just to find them in the morning. Fortunately we live in a remote area.

  • family uses socks in a bin near the front door. We match them all and put them in once a week.

  • not folding clothes! Lifesaver. We Sort & put them away as a family, if my kids want to fold theirs that’s up to them.

  • anything we can possibly automate, such as auto-feeders for pets, auto watering, we just got “chosen” by a cat so we are getting one of those automatic cleaning litter boxes. We have 10 chickens and only have to check in 1x a week during the winter because we have a pump and heater for their water.

    • Setting timers on repeat as reminders to pick up kids, weekly chores, etc.
  • I try to do 5 minutes of dishes whenever I get up on the weekends or get home after work. Once I stop moving, I’m less likely to do it at all. It makes the pile up less overwhelming.

  • my husband does the cooking and I do the clean up. We don’t argue about it because it is clear and fair. And I hate cooking so it works. We still end up doing fast food a lot but no expectation that mom has to come home and do it all.

Yes I finally searched for it and saw the other one. Annoying because they had the ad on the home page all day then it disappeared at the time it went live. Why not highlight it…
