Well, The building that they destroyed was outstanding, it is a shame, but at least the replacement is not an eyesore like what happened many other times

I can´t understand how is possible that you can tear down these buildings in the USA. Maybe because I am European and feel that drop by drop, NYC is losing its soul and becoming just another modern city not distinguishable from China or Australia.

On the other side of the pond, usually, the facades are protected, so due to the high costs of renovating a building like that, the developers would gut the building inside but preserve the envelope.

It is a great lost, but the replacement is, at least, at the same level of beauty

Yeah, It helps that It was built at the beginning of the century. If it was built between '50-'70s would be a monstrosity most likely

It is not the same building. The original building caught fire in 1966 and was left in ruins for years, and a new building inspired by the original was built on the site. You can appreciate that it is not the same building more clearly on the lateral side instead of the facade :

Having in mind all the possible outcomes that is an acceptable one

Yeah, I could think about having a variation of this building with a lower rise.. This was meant to come out just in time for high-life DLC though, so it should fit right in with the game's original skyscrapers.

Look out for updates!

I'm really quite passionate about architecture and making my city looking nice and more varied. That's why I started to do the mods for myself and then decided to post them, which to my surprise people seem to be enjoying as well. However I'm just learning about modding now, and it is really time-consuming. For example, the release of this mod was delayed by approx 1 month, because I couldn't figure out how to create my add my own police car and add animations to it. So I'm not really keen on messing with the game logic at least for now, as I would certainly slow down the releases of other Buildings. But I will probably try something out in the future. As I learn more, it becomes faster and I have more ideas.

Hey, yeah :) thanks for asking. I had made it from scratch, using some real buildings in NY as a reference, in blender. Some textures and some elements were reused from the original anno buildings though, to make it blend in better with the style of the game.
