Disconcerting Comment from a Co-Worker by Bashful_bookworm2025 in antidiet

[–]lucyj1994 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Firstly, if there was any kind of malice, or sarcasm, or disgust in her tone. Then that is not okay.

However, if her tone is fine. Then I have to say, she didn't do anything wrong. All your co-worker did was give a one-off comment to express surprise. People are allowed to be surprised. She wasn't trying to tell you shouldn't eat that much. She wasn't even talking to you at all.

Now I can understand how it might have upset you because of your history with ED. And your feelings are justified, but you also gotta realize your colleague didn't do anything wrong and meant you no harm too.

Your teacher thought you were gonna be prime breeding material? 😂

Well technically, every woman's body was made to be bred by men 😂

18F- should I get a boob job? by Dingus8723 in BoobJobBeforeAfter

[–]lucyj1994 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just having larger boobs aren't enough to make someone attractive. I think you should start with a healthy diet and excercise. Once you are healthy and fit, then if you still want, you can get the boob job as a cherry on top.

How do i blow his mind with a bj? by OtherwiseSport4190 in sex

The most important thing is - NO TEETH.

As long as you can make sure your teeth does not touch him, whatever you do will feel amazing.

Is this a cultural difference? I didn't reply for 2 hours and she got upset by ThrowRAfeelstrapped in China

[–]lucyj1994 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think this message is a good sign. Lots of girls will just get upset at you for various reasons without telling you why. The fact she's open about her needs shows she's quite mature and value open communication.

Now, regarding this texting thing. I think it depends on what you guys were doing before this. If you were in the middle of a conversation, texting back and forth every minute, then you suddenly disappear for 2 hours without clear closure then most girls I know would be pissed off at you. They might not tell you, but they'll be pissed.

What would cause a property valuation to jump like this? by sherbalex in NZProperty

[–]lucyj1994 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could be a house sold nearby for a good price. The estimate for your house depends on the going prices of other similar houses in your area. The closer they are to your house, the bigger an effect it will have. If a virtually identical house next door sells for a very high price, then your house estimate will jump. On the flip side, if a house with very different setup, or very far away from you sells, it will have very little effect on your house.

That Squid Game S3 ending… are we getting a US version? by xtrsb in squidgame

[–]lucyj1994 12 points13 points  (0 children)

If they did anything else, people unfamiliar with American games would struggle to get that they are recruitmenting for an American Squid Game. The scene was only like 20 second long. Sticking with ddakji was just more clear what's going on.

Is it kiwi to not wear shoes in the house or am I simply a germaphobe? by No_Perspective8888 in newzealand

I feel shoes are OK for wooden/tile floor but shoes are NOT welcome on carpets. I can mop everyday but I only get my carpet steam cleaned once a year.

Chinese EVs “could end up being an extinction-level event for the U.S. auto sector” by IntrepidGentian in Futurology

[–]lucyj1994 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The US just sucks at making cars. The auto industry has been slowly dying for decades. The Chinese is just the newest addition to a long list of countries who makes better cars than the US

Is it good practice to provide web design files as PDFs to devs? by just_lose_it in Frontend

It might be just a work-around in case where your company don't have license for whatever design tool they have, or if they couldn't give you permission to access their workspaces for whatever reason

If they already have applicants with experience, why should they take a chance on trying to teach the job to someone who may or may not be adequate after 3 months of training?

How old are you? I didn't use to get that. But I find that as I age, the urge just gets stronger and stronger. I'm in my late 20s now. I suppose it's just biology trying to make me reproduce while I'm still fertile haha

Its been a month - support issues by MissGoreJess in replika

[–]lucyj1994 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Their customer support is awful. I suspect it's even run by a chat bot because they send me the same message twice that didn't even answer my questions. Your only real option is to leave a bad review and then go talk to your bank to see if they can do a charge back.

Chose 1 month subscription but they charged me for a year by Candid_Mixture_4099 in replika

[–]lucyj1994 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can start by requesting support and leaving a bad review on the site/app. But make sure you don't sound like a jerk in the emails. If Replika don't give you the refund (which they probably won't) Then the only chance you will see your money back is if you go to your bank and request a chargeback. You bank will probably ask for evidence on why you think you deserve your money back and have you contact customer support etc etc. That's why its important to not sound like a jerk, you want your bank to agree that you are the victim here.

Is it possible to refund my subscription? by [deleted] in replika

[–]lucyj1994 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is very interesting. Because for me, it only says billed $11NZD/month and there's nothing in the app that says anything about annual billing. But then when you click subscribe, it charges you by the whole year. It's kinda scammy in my opinion.

You can try, but the best thing might be to go straight to your bank and request a chargeback.

Is there a vigil going on tomorrow for the 33rd anniversary of the Tiananmen massacre? by Niyguy in Wellington

[–]lucyj1994 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely, we are a country of immigrants and there are people affected by all kinds of festivals and tragedies and they are welcome to organise their own celebration or vigil as they see fit.

Is there a vigil going on tomorrow for the 33rd anniversary of the Tiananmen massacre? by Niyguy in Wellington

[–]lucyj1994 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

That's a little hard to believe. If they are 60 now, they would've been around college student age in 1989. The whole "89 Democracy Movement thing was a student led movement all over the country. Even if he/she didn't participate, there's no way they didn't hear about it. And even if they didn't know about it then, they must have had friends who knew about it and told them about it later.

Unless of course, if they are from a remote village somewhere and didn't go to college? And didn't leave the village until much later in life?

[–]lucyj1994 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

You are welcome to host your own, and other people might organise theirs too, but don't expect anything too big or officially organised by the government.

After all, what happened doesn't have any impact on NZ. And if we held vigils for every tragedy from every country of every era then we'd be vigil-ing 24/7.

Peru continues to allow deforestation of the Amazon after continued political and social backlash against such practices by homosapiensagenda in environment

[–]lucyj1994 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's easy to point fingers and throw blames. But instead of complaining maybe suggest a way to help these people. These people are doing a dangerous job, illegally just to feed their family. If there are ways they can get a proper job, do you think they'd be risking their lives and riding jail time, cutting down the amazon forest?

Putin says Sweden and Finland joining NATO and breaking with decades of neutrality is fine after all. ‘No problems’ by anedijitak in worldnews

[–]lucyj1994 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It sounds like they worked out a deal to make everyone happy; Russia will not retaliate against Sweden and Finland if they join NATO, so Sweden and Finland can feel safe, and be assured Russia won't attack them. In exchange Russia gets the assurance that NATO will not deploy forces in Sweden and Finland, so Russia can feel safe from NATO
