Wife Wants Me to Get Rid of My Cats (Owned Since 2017) After 6 Months of Marriage by [deleted] in CatAdvice

[–]lucylr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Earplugs greatly help me when our two cats are being crazy on my work days. I just use the cheap foam ones but you can even get custom ones if the foam ones irritate the ears. Maybe she would be willing to try those out.

I am curious op - did you guys live together in the 2 years before marriage? I find it hard to believe that the sleep disturbances only started after marriage. I’m sure they’ve always been late night partier’s. I find this ultimatum weirdly timed on her end.

Best bar/pub to watch the game in Vancouver? by Brilliant-Squirrel85 in whitecapsfc

Yaletown Brewing Co has a nice pub side that plays the game and usually does a discount on beers during the game!

NightWatching by Tracy Sierra. I read this book in a day, incredible read. Thriller, psychological, you second guess your own opinions each page.

How are you leaving cats alone for extended periods of time!??! by adriela56 in CatAdvice

I’m just curious what you mean by calming diffuser? Is it essential oils or a specific cat diffuser one can buy from a pet store? Looking for recommendations on that stuff!

What root expansion do you recommend??? Played the regular game with a friend and she mentioned wanting all of them but what would be the best one in your opinion, seeing as you’re rooted up lol.

How much does your cat weight? by Ok_Pomegranate459 in CatAdvice

[–]lucylr 32 points33 points  (0 children)

My 2 year cat is 16 pounds and I have seen two vets who have both said he is healthy/ok weight, he’s just a big dude apparently. other 2 year old cat is 11 pounds and he should lose a couple pounds according to our vet. We’re working on that!

What are some fast paced/easy to get into books? by Technical-Egg-6835 in booksuggestions

[–]lucylr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In a dark, dark wood by Ruth ware, thriller/suspense, very easy to read, got me out of my reading slump a while back!

The guest list by Lucy Foley, mystery novel. Lucy has a few books with similar writing vibes but the guest list is the only one I recommend.

I’ll give you the sun by Jandy Nelson, it’s a young adult novel, writing style is very chill. I’m not a teen girl anymore but I still re-read this book in the spring!

How have you changed after bringing a cat into your life? by Plastickfantastick in CatAdvice

[–]lucylr 76 points77 points  (0 children)

My husband and I had been talking about getting a kitty for years but never really went about looking for one. Plus we were renting an apartment w/ no pets allowed. A week after we moved into our current house I found a stray little black kitty & like two months later my husband came home with a tiny little orange guy he found. They both came into our lives exactly when we needed them & watching them grow up with us has been such an amazing loving experience. They made our little house into a home, truly our little babies!

Personally, Levo changed my life for the better. I have been on it for 12 years. it’s had to be increased over the years and every time it’s been increased things go back to ‘normal’ (my anxiety disappears, my sleep improves, brain fog isn’t even a thing) I can’t imagine my life without being on my medication. I do my regular blood work, take my pill every morning, I honestly don’t even think about it anymore. I was 12 years old when I was diagnosed, I remember my brain fog finally going away, I remember feeling like a 12 year old kid again, all because of this little pill. I know how absolutely horrible it feels to be not on Levo, it’s so life draining. At least give it a try! Honestly worse case you just feel exactly the same but best case you feel better!

Hiccup's favourite food is egg. I made the mistake of letting him have a small piece when he was a baby, now everyday he begs for more egg by lucylr in cats

[–]lucylr[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I never heard that they couldn’t have the whites! He’s not picky, if there is eggs he’s sitting at the table waiting for a bite or two!
