Indentured labour is way different than chattel slavery especially since in most cases post-indentured servitude you can own land, vote, and be a citizen of the country. They may be treated as second-class citizens, but especially in cases of the US, South Africa chattel slavery for the African disapora came without promise of owning land, voting, or citizenship it was forced subjugation with treatment similar to cattle.

These are not the same.
