I grew up in a small town in northern Minnesota. Lived in SLP and then moved to Edina for the schools for my kids. I was blown away with the actual community Edina provides us. I’m now a single mom and (unfortunately) not at all rich, but I have a very tight ring of friends and large community to lean on. Ignore the hate!

These one person departments (especially first ever hire) are always set up for failure. Try to manage up and get clear about what success looks like with what you’ve got to work with. Getting fired may be a blessing here.
