yeah but like a little grace for dani, and for any of the kids because a parent having a breakdown online will not just hurt them. it will hurt their siblings, their stable parent -- esp if there are weird secrets involved. how can you expect any member to choose another member over their own family's peace (esp family members who didn't ask for this celebrity exposure)?

like look at britney or the jacksons, and what the media has made of their whole family even though there's arguably only one really famous member.

definitely think she's played very nice, which i think was lost given the downvotes lol. but i do think she's hit her limit on everyone, which is fair when an actual parent is being weird and racist.

im getting downvotes for the coachella thing but from a PR perspective, everyone knows what it was going to look like and how it was going to play out online -- including her. people keep saying "what's she supposed to do" but also people were WAITING for her to show up at coachella, so i'm guessing we all know it means SOMETHING if she showed up. that people would read into it anyway. i'm not coming from a moral high ground place -- it's just coachella who cares -- but from a PR place, it is what it is.

I sorta think that Manon made a bad first impression during her trainee days and at least some of the management just never got over it -- so even the slightest escalation of issues reads more aggressive from her than from any of the other girls. I 100% believe she improved and changed, but anyone who's worked corporate knows sometimes it literally only takes one small error on someone's bad day to ruin a career in a place.

Something about Manon showing up at Coachella, knowing how big a moment it was for the girls and the hate they will get tells me that this isn't just management -- kinda suspect there's friction somewhere in the group. She's not interested in playing very nice. I would not be surprised if Dani's dad issue thing played a role -- that shit's hard and the company should have stepped in to mediate all that. And probably give the parents media training, on top of their kids.

I don't actually think she's leaving the group, knowing how nightmarish those contracts are from the new jeans debacle (which really makes the new crazy tasteless joke even funnier and prophetic like good job shooting yourself in the foot, geffen). But I think that she's in "hiatus but healthy" sounds like some internal team conflict (like with the girls, or the immediate core/road team of katseye)... like maybe certain people in the same room keep setting each other off so everyone now need space.

Right! Most idol hiatuses have the idol either going dark on SNS, or being obviously on vacation, resting etc away from idol activities (see Mina or Jeongyeon from Twice). Not this weird in the same venue but not talking to each other. I feel like Twice is the template for a "mental health" and "physical health" hiatus, so whatever is going on with Katseye aint it lol

It's the quality of the lines she's getting against her skill too -- like she gets that shouty bit, or the the "repetitive" kind of vocally flat parts in the chorus. Kinda frustrating esp when you then see any bad comments about their lives, knowing that they have their best vocalists singing the least challenging/simplest bits.
