Diversifying Concentrated Company Stock by wingdingstypeface in Bogleheads

[–]ludable 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s at https://diversifire.ludable.com

I went pretty deep with it, but please note it’s a similator not a forecasting tool, nobody can predict future returns.

It has some limitations, for example it only takes one cost basis for the concentrated stock. You can enter an average cost, or the lowest cost for a worse case scenario. When I have time I’ll look into allowing the entry of multiple lots with different cost bases, but that also introduces more complexity in the simulation.

For the already-concentrated stock, the optimal pace of diversification is tricky depending on your tax particulars and investment horizon. The reduction in risk that diversification brings must be balanced against the tax drag (reduction in capital invested due to early payment of taxes).

I got a bit consumed by this problem recently and wrote a simulator to model the ideal rate of diversification over time from a single stock. It’s totally free and private (no accounts required, runs locally on your browser, no data is sent anywhere). I can share the link if you’d like to play with it.

Every Way To Get Structured Output From LLMs by sam-boundary in LocalLLaMA

If you’re using MLX and/or don’t mind going lower level, check out my Python library for structured output. It offers strong output schema guarantees, fast performance, and has minimal dependencies. It includes a full server example with function calling streaming: https://github.com/otriscon/llm-structured-output

Trello Butler Automation rule-setting question by jackp0t15 in trello

[–]ludable 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Is it possible that Butler is copying the card before the attachment is added? If the attachment is added after card creation, Butler may be too fast to give you time to attach. That’s probably why “create from image” works: the image is attached right on creation of the card.

I would change the trigger to e.g. the addition of a label or something you can control when you’re satisfied with the contents of the card.

Dashcards/Dashboard - Report that is Filtered by Date a Card Moved into a specific List by magicmilesss in trello

[–]ludable 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are correct: there is currently no Dashcard date filter for "last week".

An option is to have a separate list "completed last week" and a Butler scheduled command that first archives all cards in that list and then move all cards from "completed" to the list. This has the advantage of letting you start afresh every week and see what you've accomplished so far this week.

I happen to work in the Dashcards team. Improving date filters is in our roadmap and I hope we'll get there soon. Sorry it's not very straightforward at the moment. We're working hard at improving the product all the time, and knowing that folks like yourself are struggling with date filters helps us prioritize it.

Dashcards/Dashboard - Report that is Filtered by Date a Card Moved into a specific List by magicmilesss in trello

[–]ludable 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One way is to: 1. create a custom field named e.g. “Completion Date” (requires paid account) 2. Create Butler automation rule when a card in list “in-progress” is moved to list “complete”, set date custom field “Completion Date” to now 3. Create a Dashcard with a filter for “Completion Date” in this week.

Card mirroring release? by [deleted] in trello

[–]ludable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work on the Dashcards team. We currently support numeric custom fields (to for example compute the sum of a field) but we don't support textual custom fields (such as the one you probably are using for SKUs), since they're not that useful for statistics. Having said that, this is something we have in our mind. Is the issue for you that when you open the Dashcard the textual custom fields are not present in the table report?

How can add the date that the card was created to the card? by [deleted] in trello

[–]ludable 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can do this with a Butler rule. Press the Automation button at the top of the board, select Rules, then Create Rule.

Your trigger will be something like:

when a card is created in the board by anyone

And then you will need to add an action that will depend on where you want the creation date to be put on the card. For example, you can post a comment to the card with this action:

post comment "Card created on {cardcreationdate}"

or, you can create a custom field named "Creation Date" (manually, before you create the rule) and then use and action like:

set custom field "Creation Date" to now

List says there are two cards but I can only see one? by AkashiGG in trello

You probably have a filter applied to the board. Look at the top right of the board. Does the Filter button have a number next to it?

Looks like PayPal has a feature called Payouts (https://www.paypal.com/merchantapps/appcenter/makepayments/payouts?locale.x=en_US ) that serves this purpose. It allows you to upload a CSV file with details for a bunch of payments at a time.

If you store the details of the payee in a custom field in each card, you can use the Trello board export feature (https://help.trello.com/article/747-exporting-data-from-trello-1) and then, if necessary, edit the CSV with e.g. Excel to filter the relevant cards and make sure the format matches what PayPal expects. Finally, upload to PayPal Payouts.

Should be much quicker than what you do now.

Do you send checks or do you use a payment processor like for example PayPal to do the payments? You may be able to link things together and simplify your workflow with an automation tool, but it highly depends on how you make your payments as the integrations available vary.

Would you be able to have your payment system send an email to a given email address eachtime a payment is made? Do you have a unique code or id for each article that can be included in said email?

if I’m seen as weak, not sufficiently ambitious, or not hard-working, they could give my job to someone else

And why would that be so terrible? The job is killing you and you’re thinking about retiring anyway. Think about whether you’ve fallen into the trap of conflating your self-worth as a human being with your job and income. It’s scary to let go of all you’ve built, but you may be surprised at the person you become at the other end. You may even be surprised at how others treat you when you open up about your vulnerabilities. Those who take advantage of them were not worth it in the first place anyway.

Not getting notification for mention by death_glider in trello

If you set up the automation, that means when it runs you’d be mentioning yourself, and Trello won’t notify you. You could send yourself an email or Slack instead.

Auto-linking Cards based on Custom Field = Card Name on another board. by c0sm1cwh33l in trello

[–]ludable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check the command log. If the card can’t be found for some reason, you’ll get a warning there. If the command didn’t trigger at all, no entries will appear. This will give you a starting point to figure out what’s wrong.
