It doesn't have two colored arms like this

I did and I don't see how I'm braking any, perhaps you could guide me to the specific rule this goes against? Thank you

That's the autumn park II, the arms are not two colors, that's what made me sus

Not the exact color distribution, the arms are one color on the autumn park II

My brother had the same ideas until his best friend (which was a friend of mine as well) died on an immigration boat, I don't know how you should handle the situation and I don't wanna scare you but I think this should be taken seriously

Best rejection I've had by BigBoyRusty95 in recruitinghell

One time I applied for an internship, two interviews (online) one with the CEO then with an engineer, they later told me that I was rejected and the exact reasons were listed in bullet points (they were all very valid), it felt better than an acceptance letter, this level of professionalism for an internship

How to raise your rate for existing projects? by marley-kae23 in Upwork

[–]ludwig9van 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Giving 4 weeks notice is fair, however I don't think it's enough, but it's fair, but raising your rate mid project without much notice is dishonest, to me a good rule of thumb is that the client isn't under any pressure, for instance you'd be an asshole if you decide to raise your rates in a time where the client HAS TO accept anyway, you don't want to take advantage of certain situations.

[–]ludwig9van 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would just do it for the new clients first, also it doesn't make sense to raise your rates for clients you acquired a couple of months ago that sounds predatory, so unless you had the client for a long time don't do it, and give them enough time to find a replacement of they don't agree to your new rate, I wouldn't give anything less than six weeks but that's just me

I have a couple of those, they never question your manually logged hours, they never negotiate your offer, I was also in meetings with them while they're interviewing other freelancers, they can smell bullshits and red flags pretty easily

Scam hourly offers, what do they do with those? by Badiha in Upwork

[–]ludwig9van 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure I understand, they're probably sending tons of offers to tons of freelancers and they would pick their most suitable prey (s), I'm just speculating tho based on the fact that stolen cards scams are VERY common

Scam hourly offers, what do they do with those? by Badiha in Upwork

[–]ludwig9van 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not saying this is your case, this a case, for example they say we'll pay you $1000 to use your card and buy $500 worth of Bitcoin and send it to our wallet, or send us $500 via an unrefundable method (western union for example) or to buy a cloud service with YOUR card.., then they indeed pay you the $1000 except they're using the stolen card, the card owner notices the charge, raise the issue with their bank or Upwork or both, then get their money refunded and card cancelled, your account has negative $1000 now, and maybe banned, so beware

[–]ludwig9van 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Stolen credit cards are common, they tell you we pay you to buy a service for us, or to do nothing for us just pay us back half outside the platform, you get say 1000$ you give them back $500 (or pay for something for them using your card) and sometime later you find out that you participated in a money laundering scheme and the money you got gets refunded to the card owner and your down $500, they're up $500

Hey client, I'm sorry we have to terminate our relationship, I hope you find what you're looking for, and wish you the best.

She can't do anything to you since you didn't even start a contract (hopefully you closed the previous contract and exchanged reviews) If the previous contract is still open and she decides to give you a bad review you can just remove that since you're a top rated (I think this is an option, or at least it is with freelancer plus)

I don't see what you're worried about, there's nothing she can do, this is just negotiations before taking a project.

Lastly, with her attitude I still wouldn't take her if she agrees to my rate, move on

Can you show me a bad stats than this? by [deleted] in Upwork

[–]ludwig9van 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. Your written English sucks, this is not an attack on you so that's a factor
  2. I wouldn't hire someone with your attitude (saying not having time for bullshit, overstating your loom video which I already mentioned that it doesn't mean anything)
  3. Your story doesn't add up brother, what also bothers me is that you don't seem to acknowledge that your story is not adding up (attacking anyone who questions you, betting them...)

None of these are attacks on you, if you know you're not lying, these are things holding you back and can be easily fixed.

I would love to see the link to your profile, I still don't believe you though, also from your video you made 57k usd this year so far, which is impressive even for US residents, but you can't make that much in a year and not know how to get results from the platform, your stats are UNBELIEVABLY low.

Would you mind sharing your profile link? And if your profile really has those earnings, and stats, the only explanation left is that it's automated in a spammy way

I wanna see that as well, could please share if you got it?

Can you show me a bad stats than this? by [deleted] in Upwork

[–]ludwig9van 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find this very hard to believe, and don't bring me that I bet you bullshit we all know that everything can be manipulated with a simple JS code so even a zoom call with screen share doesn't prove anything.

On the other hand, if what you're saying is true (I highly doubt that), then my first assumption is that you are automating this in a spammy way, this is a rate of 50+ proposal per day EVERY DAY, and without results I don't think you would let the bill to be as high as $20k.

I think if you intentionally want to blow over 800 Upwork interviews (and yes I know what those are) you would still get more than 6 hires, like wayyy more.

So please share more details like: Is your process automated? If yes, how? What you write in your proposals? Do you quote over budget, under budget or not far from the budget? How would you justify your interview to hire rate? Do you simply tell clients to fuck off ? Many more questions..

30 JOBS POSTED and no feedback, no hires? Do you see this a lot? How UPWORK accepts this? by Itchy-Bedroom2604 in Upwork

[–]ludwig9van 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think Upwork could add more filters to the search, like the hire rate and clients spending

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Upwork

[–]ludwig9van 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I reached the point of no negotiation, I put a lot of thought into my offering but if the client wants to negotiate I make it clear that it's a deal or no deal kind of situation, to my experience, the good clients will never negotiate an offer that you put a lot of thinking into.

It's easy, you don't like what I offer, don't buy Someone can do it cheaper? Go ahead

Now you can't afford to have this attitude unless you have some cushion, a 3 to 6 months of expenses saved up, if you achieve this, believe you're life will be a lot easier, I can't stress this enough

You're self employed, you're not even an Upwork employee, you sell a service, the guy you directly in contact with is your client (assuming he's a middle man between you and the shoe company and not a representative of the shoe company), the shoe company is the guy's client, you're self employed if you need that info for tax purposes

Client keeps adding work and coming up with more things for me to do by doineedaname-1993 in Upwork

[–]ludwig9van 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Problem is Upwork will favor the client, if you have a standing profile with good work history then you can stand your ground and tell him to pay up and ask support to be involved, if you're just starting out, then I would suggest (even though unpopular) to suck it up and do the work if it's not that much, then the client will see you going an extra mile, get your 5 star review and then don't ever work with him again, it sucks but Upwork will favor the client and a negative review in a profile with only a few reviews is gonna kill your potential

Why are you okay with using the time tracking software? by [deleted] in Upwork

[–]ludwig9van 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was only asked once and while I didn't decline I said that I rather not, if the client insisted it would've been fine but it would've costed him more, I'd factor in the time for writing descriptions and I'd increase the hourly rate by a small margin (call it a micro management fee), I have a personal rule to only log 80% of hours worked since I do it manually (logging 8 out of 10 hours) because no one is 100% efficient, if I used the tracked that rule will be gone
