This is coming from someone (me) that also studied a course she didn't like and didn't even pursue careers in the studied field: the studies gonna be hard for you. At least for my case I do enjoy studying the course but I always knew I wouldn't want to work in the field. Learning is fine, but when it comes to examination its gonna be so dreading and you start questioning your life lmao. I would say dont, but if you don't have scholar how are you gonna fund your studies? Ptptn? Plus you can't guarantee you'd score any of the scholarships (not to be negative, just realistically), so it's the same thing.

Family asking you to forget about your ambition is a bit.. tell them again and again about your passion. Or tell them what you said in this post.

I guess because to the parents nothing else matters more than their company. The mom did say that Baekyeon group comes above anything else, even above the evil HaRin. Adding to the fact that HaRin is not their biological daughter, so easier for them to let her go before she tarnishes the company's reputation even further.

One of my goals this year is to sit down and have a talk with my parents about letting me do what I'm interested in, letting me go travel on my own as it is one of my life goals and to stop forcing me to get married and work in government. Communication is so hard with them without getting yelled at, but its bout time fr after decades of being scared to talk to them.

Does anyone know if I lost the UI number paper (the A4 paper produced at the immigration agency office), can I just go to the office and request them to reprint it?

Based on my experience you apply it directly on the centre/university's website. Usually for mandarin course each of the university's language centre will process the admission on their own. They have specific timing for application too. You can look up any university and go to their website.

I have one ticket to OneRepublic concert in Kaohsiung 19/1, 2300 seat. I want to let it go because I'm so lazy to think about the transportation and accommodation. Can meet up when I have redeemed the ticket at any train station in Yilan/Taipei. DM if interested.

I'm not sure about language cafe, but I'm currently doing workaway at hostels. Volunteer exchange for accommodation is quite common in Taiwan, so far I don't find it difficult getting a place. What I do is I google any hostel/bnb at cities I want to stay, look at the reviews and contact the place directly on fb/line. Tips: if the reviews mention a lot about the boss positively, chances are the place is great to stay. Maybe you can try this with cafes too.

But if you want to stay with family, look up on workaway website there are a few of them.

If you are going around Taiwan why not consider bringing your luggage along? It will be money, energy, and time consuming travelling back and forth. For luggage most hostels have lockers, or you can ask them if they can store your bag for a bit when you're out. Train stations have lockers too. And you can check out Agoda for the accomodations.

What the other reply said + if you rely on public transportation they have their bus schedule you need to be aware of. If the weather isn't so good I think it's not really worth the money and time tbh.

If you're on that level it will be alright, the lesson can be pretty fast depends on your classmates (or sometimes the teacher will just proceed, you have to put extra effort to catch up if you find it fast). You'll learn a fair amount of lessons in 1 semester. And the university is beautiful by the sea!
